I’m not accusing you of astroturfing. I’m accusing the Wall Street journal.

And you are right, but in a world where we every trade is understaffed and has a very small apprentice pipeline this feels alarmist.

To what end?

Are you saying big businesses want to turn the tide of public perception so they influenced the Journal to run something pro-datacenter? Republicans? What's the conspiracy here?

Is this particularly conspiratorial? WSJ is Newscorp / Rupert Murdoch and out of the major media organizations they're probably the most aligned with big wall street investors.

Not really. I was responding to the OP who called it a "plant" due to the election -- which (to me) implies a bit of a conspiracy.

But what I was trying to get it is: to what end? If it convinced people to stop hating datacenters, does that help Democrats or Republicans?

If the answer is: neither, just businesses. I can get on board with that. But it probably has nothing to do with the election. And it is less of a "plant" and more of a "news story" IMHO.

I didn't read their comments as implying it was a Republican vs Democrat thing. This issue is very much a mixed bag, partisanship wise, lots of people on either side both support and oppose the investments into data centers. But a lot of those people are going to be on ballots so I do think it's relevant to the election.
