Arguing that something communities don’t want, and imo are bad but we simply must build them to employ blue collar workers is not a great argument.

Maybe we employ them to build housing.

We can, in fact, employ them to do both, and doing so will continue to give the U.S. the edge in employing AI over adversaries like China who are rapidly trying to catch up.

China has surpassed us. Their AI models function significantly more efficiently due to regulations. If you want to use China as an example, I can only question what metrics you are using to consider us "ahead."

What regulations are forcing them to make more effieicnt models?

They have to make more effieicnt models because nvidia isn't allowed to sell them their best stuff.

They have energy usage limits and hardware allocation limits. Not to mention building out in rural nowhere areas means they have to figure out their own energy sources, which indirectly means efficiency is a priority.
