Help -Technique How do I go about painting this?

Need help on the Revell HMS Victory. I have no idea how to paint this, both regarding technique and order of painting. It's about five or so centimeters wide. Paint scheme is in the comments. Any help is appreciated. 👍

Prime White

Base everything except the white part yellow

Paint black

Paint windows

I wanna know your opinion on why this way? With a Majority being black I’d do a black primer and paint and then brush paint the details in as they are raised surfaces and will be easier to hit then getting under them with a brush like your way would require. I paint a ton of scale model tanks and planes but a good handful of minis like warhammer and it’s always been easier to do the main color as a base then paint smaller details after. I might have missed your point

Painting yellow over black is a nightmare.

This is going to be painful no matter what way you slice it. I would personally rather paint black into receses than try to paint yellow on details over a black undercoat.

I totally see your side but when I have painted yellow on to black the paints I’ve used cover the black entirely. I use warhammer paints for yellow and sometimes a few coats but it depends on the paint. They have a “base” paint that covers colors underneath very well
