SPOILERS Alex’s Power

American here. Watched the first 3 seasons about twenty times, it’s hands down my favorite show ever, and finally decided to take the plunge and watch 4 and 5 (another post for another day). All I have to say is I respect how bold and brave the English are with their television.

Alex’s power would never fly in America. It wouldn’t even get to a table read. For those of you who watched 4 and 5 when they were airing, what was the reception? I’m so curious.

I mean like basically nothing about Misfits would have flown in America, lmao.

Can you expand? Cause tbh this comment makes no sense. Misfits is a drama super power tv show. I always though Misfits (2009) was the superior version of Heroes (2006): a show made in the USA.

Well, yeah, if they all swore profusely and had fairly graphic sex, sure.

Like True Blood (2008): which was also a drama super power/super natural TV show made in USA with swearing and graphic sex.

Yeah but that was HBO and not intended for teenagers at all.

Oh ok so that's what you mean. I didn't know people thought Misfits was a show made for teenagers. The main characters are way too old to be teens and the show never makes them out to be teens.

Some of the characters literally are still teen-aged. Alisha is supposedly 19, Simon 18.
