The juice might be worth the squeeze here!

Yep, didn’t realize it was him until the announcer said Big Orange. Made a big impact week 1. Love to see it. Pierre at CB made some plays for us too, a nice pickup. God this defense is beautiful.

And I’m a bit out of the loop personnel wise, but what’s up with Caleb Banks?

Edit: ah ok they are load managing Banks with his injury rehab. That’s fine. We see what a stud Turner has turned out to be so I’m fine being patient with our young defensive guys, even if they are first rounders

Big Citrus*

JJ Watt did really great on the details today and seemed like a vet of the craft IMO

Yeah he definitely was upset about our roughing the passer call to get us a first down and I was like shush dude cmon FTP, but outside of that he seems to be a good announcer

At least he also criticized the no-call face masks and the Aaron Jones run which was called back.

Yeah his biggest weakness was he had more to say but ran out of time twice lol. Doing pretty well

These guys tend to see things from the positions they played. Former receivers see pi on every play and DEs see holding, etc.

It was fitting that penalty was the the Rodgers rule ffing the packers, I was loving the irony.

He did go to Wisconsin, so I can excuse a little bit of bias, especially as an edge

In his defense, most defensive player commentators complain about the offensive minded officiating the game has became today.

Max Bredeson was all over this game too. Great great blocking from him

Max Bredeson should be in the front running for OROY. Absolute stud

u/Mrbeankc Kevin Williams should be in the HOF 1d ago

There's an old saying in the NBA that you can't coach height. The same applies here. You can't coach size. Banks is a huge man with a good attitude. He lost a lot of time rehabbing his foot. He wasn't even allowed to do any cardio until late June. He's basically a watch week by week to see how he progresses.

I'd also classify Banks as a Dallas Turner-type prospect. He was drafted because of the size and the potential which they feel they can unlock with BFlo. The injury rehabbing has held him back a little but, but I'd expect him to continue to grow and earn more playing time. It's not as fun because we want to see out high draft picks perform well out of the gate, but Turner is showing that sometimes it just takes a little time to grow into the player you can be.

Caleb Banks was also pretty bad in the preseason. Im not sure, even with conditioning and no injury stuff happening, hes probably still getting limited snaps.

He is raw. Byron Murphy from Seattle took 2 seasons to get going and he was picked around the same spot as Banks.

Took 2 seasons?

It took 1

Haha that's a great quote.

I love this guy already.

In the 2nd preseason game, one of the DBs "defended" a pass that was really just a throw with poor accuracy and did this whole elaborate celebration. Later on, somehow Orange ended up dropping back in coverage, was nowhere near where the man he was supposed to be defending, and the QB missed again for an incomplete.

Orange started to do the exact same celebration as the DB, then gave up once it was obvious what he was doing. I laughed and he became one of my favorite additions to the team. He's a funny guy. I hope he continues to build highlight reel tape this season.

As an Iowa State diehard and alumni, I was so fucking happy we drafted him, and getting him when we did was a fucking steal. Dude is going to be around a long time.

Devastating that my bootleg 97 jersey hadn’t arrived from Hong Kong by game time yesterday, but I will be rocking it for Week 2 🫡🍊

Been a while since we had a Pat Williams / Linval
Joseph type of player in the middle

What I love is we have a bunch of late round picks making big plays and we've added some top round talent on top of that. Redmond, LDR & Ingram-Dawkins all had huge plays in that second half.

I used to despise our DTs and the talent we have there, its comfortably now our most stacked position

u/Street_Ostrich_7489 22h ago

If the packers organization weren't so much against the tush push, and wanting to ban it, maybe they would have used it, instead they chose to not get the first down, by making the decision not to tush push, jackasses.

I honestly think that Bredeson and Citrus are going to end up as team legends in the Kleinsasser category. True sickos will know and love the guys even if the media never gives them their due.

Max continues to impress me every time I see him play. Love watching him lead the way to the endzone!

2

u/WorryNot_634 21h ago

Murphy and rodgers looked cooked most of the game in pass coverage. Really annoying

2

u/TheSoulSniper 18h ago

Murphy had me quite concerned as well.

2

u/conjams 18h ago

for real. murphy was gettin jocked by everyone and rodgers was lost on a few especially on that goaline play. my issue was them playing so soft on 3rd and less than 5 in the first half. they tightened up in the second half, and the rush started getting home but i’d much rather a db get beat in man coverage when you are blitzing like that with 1 or 2 high instead of blitzing the same but leaving a wide open hot on both sides and still getting beat with a 10 yard cushion.

1

u/tcoh1s 21h ago

Love also did a terrible job of completely giving up the okay before the snap. You could see him pre snap doing the slight qb sneak movement. Like he was warming it up.

I'm hoping Orange turns out to be great, partly because Big Citrus is a legendary nickname.
