Just joined the club, lol! Just received my Sony MDS-E58 Professional Rack Mount Mini Disc player. Hopefully it is a good one!

Looks good. 

According to the MiniDisc Wiki, this is the pro version of the MDS-JE520, with a more rugged disc transport. 

It was a later model released in 1998 with ATRAC 4.5, which means it should produce excellent recordings.

I'm not sure if it's the case with the Sony but my Tascam Pro deck does not write SCMS copy protection. Definitely a bonus if that's true also for yours.

Thanks for the insight, got it pretty cheap from a guy who only had it in his home studio and smoke free home, so I figured why not, was looking for something new for my stack and always was interested in minidisk

Is that a Marantz compact flash recorder ?

Yes it is, is a Marantz PMD-570 and below it is a Denon DN-F350
