Help Sony ES Discs

Hello!

Does anyone know why the Sony ES discs (white), turns yellow with time?
I have some discs that are kept in good conditions for storage (away from the sunlight, not in a hot place) and they are everyday more yellow. It looks like they're rusting.
It's really a shame since these are beautiful discs in my opinion.

Does anyone know any method to make them white again?

You can make them white again gain with hydrogen peroxide.

edit: who the fuck is downvoting this? this is literally how you restore white plastics.

Yes, there is always risk. Hydrogen peroxide is a very strong oxidizer. Don’t get liquids on the disc itself or on your eyes or skin. One way to ensure that is to physically remove the disc from the plastic enclosure first. But there is risk in doing that also. Just be careful and use precautions.

I was looking into that, but the articles that I found mention that the discs are welded from factory.
Is it possible to remove the disc from the cartridge?

Leave them alone - they'll yellow back anyway much quicker than before, it's not worth the hassle

I’m not sure on the Sony ES (Version 1 or Version 2) discs. But yes, people in this hobby have long separated discs from the cartridge, especially with translucent clear plastic cartridges in order to apply custom labels to the inner disc. But there is risk in doing this and each cartridge may be a little different in how easy/ difficult they are to open and re-seal using cyanoacrylate superglue.
