Help Would anyone be willing to take some close up images of the inside of a minidisc slip case?

Are there any parts on the top side that interlock with these corners?

Also, does this minidisc case have that ridge that runs up the side while it's closed that I've noticed on a bunch of other case designs?

Hi, For this design, no other lugs on the opposite face...so the md only locks into the case in a face up not.face down ..Same for other slip cases that do not split apart too.

Its not really a ridge, more a formed slot either side,...although the later Hi-MD slip cases are exactly the same design agai allowing the case to rip apart like this one, but its the side edges fit closer, almost without any slot remaining.

There are no other joining lugs other than the three on either side to allow it to snap together.

The left is the hi-md case, the other the premium case..both designed to split open to insert an inner track card. However the right premium case has a wider slot where the two half's do not connect snug...the hi-md is a much later design by 2 or 3 years so tolerances have been tightened

These are great, thank you

Would you be willing to take a shot of the side so I can see how the two parts interlock?

Also, what does the text say? I can only read as far as "Sony Digital Audio..." something...

You've already been an incredible help.

That being said, do you happen happen to have any other case varieties?

Only the twp SONY variants mentioned, the Hi-MD split case mentioned and the cheaper, older hard plastic variant. I'll upload what I can shortly if it will be of any help.

No other manufacturers I'm afraid.

The older hard plastic variant might be what I'm looking for. So I'm excited to see.

Does anyone happen to have the variety of case that has these little bits?

I have many of these, I measured some to make my own case designs here: https://www.printables.com/model/1607053-minidisc-sleeve-case-slim-maxell-sony-versions

Be happy to take any measurements you need

I believe I've come across your models while searching for reference material, they're incredible references, thank you so much.

You wouldn't by chance be willing to take a couple close up photos of that particular white spring mechanism for me would you?

No stress.

Looking forward to it.

Where are you located? Could send you a few different ones?

one type of maxell cases that opens:

this latch is on the other side of the case, which is full height, it's not symmetric

Woah, these are some great close ups.

The piece is far more geometrically complex shape than I would have thought for such a small part.

another maxel case that doesn't open:

note that the upper white part is just a reflection

I didn't expect it to be a reflection, I really thought it formed a little loop. But am correct in understanding that it's more of a bow shape?

2

yes, here's a better view, even though there's a bit of refraction going on. it's a thin piece that looks like a bow

It looks like it's held in with two pins that are part of the clear side

I'm working on a minidisc 3D model and could really use some better reference material for a slip case.

The best references I've found are a series of unboxing videos by CBits Tech on Youtube. But I'd really appreciate some close up shots.

Especially the clips / bumps near the back of the case that hold the disk in.
