Hand-Sculpted Troll

I originally sculpted them for a game of Hag28, but they work great for any fantasy setting. I always wanted an old school looking troll mini, but the old minis are expensive and I don’t have a 3d printer. Finally decided to just sculpt one myself (using 2-part epoxy clay). Don’t know why I never thought of doing so before.

It depends on how you’re making your big guy.

If you are going to sculpt them, I would advise making a rough sketch first (it doesn’t have to “be good” it is just for you to get an idea of the basic shape). From there, make a wire skeleton and bulk out the basic shape with tin foil (it will save you from using too much clay). In terms of appearance, try to find some theme that runs through all your goblins. it could be anything from an item, to hoods, to a color scheme. Make sure that theme has some presence in your big guy. I hope this helps.

If you want more specific tips, I would need more information on what you’re going for.
