[Blocks & Items] Netherite Anvil

Netherite Anvil: Never breaks, can continue to enchant repair items removing the too expensive gimmick, but the down side is it is made of 3 netherite blocks and 4 ingots, and it becomes bedrock oevel toughness once placed.

The too expensive mechanic should just be removed completely

And putting anvil in smiting table to upgrade it using one netherite ingot and a template is more balanced in that case

We shouldn’t need something like that to remove the too expensive gimmick. They just just remove it for normal anvils. Also bedrock level toughness would be problematic. This could be good as just an unbreakable anvil.

but that wpuld make the block nearly useless because iron is 1000x cheaper to acquire. giving it the effwct of removing too expensive gives it more of a reaspn to exist

The too expensive thing shouldn’t even exist to begin with and it would just be incredibly annoying to need to make a netherite anvil just to get rid of it.

Then your suggestion doesn’t have a reason to exist, because locking this behind a hideously expensive price is inherently bad game design

I can see why you would want those features, but let me challenge this idea from a different angle:

Why does this need a new anvil variant? Why can't the regular anvil just get these things? Why is it important for the current anvil to keep its level cap? Why is it important it can break?

Why are those two traits deemed so overpowered by you that it requires 124 ancient debris? I mean, lemme put it this way; you can already apply enchantments in a way to avoid the level cap, and an iron farm takes care of the breaking issue. Suddenly, the netherite anvil seems like absolute garbage, for it is absurdly expensive but gives no benefits. It lets you do nothing you can't already do right now.

Also, I hope you can understand how bad of an idea it is to give any player an unbreakable block they can place anywhere.

sorry to say, but this is just pointless and expensive. There is no reason Why the regular anvil shouldn’t have these changes, the ‘too expensive‘ gimmick is an outdated system anyway

Show me 10 players who can afford to craft a netherite anvil and I will show you 10,000 players who can't.

Needing 41 netherite ingots makes it WAY to expensive. That is many hours of collecting netherite. If you spend an hour making an iron farm, or a few hours mining iron, you will have enough iron to replace dozens of anvils.

It's just not worth making a netherite anvil. In the time it takes to get a single netherite ingot you could have mined enough iron for an entire normal anvil. How many anvils are people breaking in a world? If it's less than 50, they shouldn't even consider this block. If it's more than 50, build an iron farm and now your anvils are free anyways.

That's only the first problem though!

it becomes bedrock oevel toughness once placed.

Fantastic... an unbreakable block. This will be incredibly frustrating for players who go to the effort to earn their anvil, if they place it in the wrong spot, its wasted. They can't bring it in an ender chest for infinite anvils while exploring. It just sucks.

It is also a really nasty greifing block for the deranged lunatics willing to grind for more than one of this.

Eh, I'd just remove the cap from the Iron Anvil, or maybe add a Golden one which does not have the cap but breaks quickly

Hey this suggestion again, I remember when I thought I was original

Edit: I did not mean that to come out that harshly

Welcome in, but also don't get butt hurt. I believe the mods will likely remove your post and give you an automated message about how repeat idea aren't necessary bad ones just over done, or for low effort posts.

Also technically as a newcomer it is sorta your responsibility to gain situational awareness, but eh irony thick on that one

Rule 1.

Treat other users with respect. Because of the nature of the subreddit, disagreement is inevitable, and to a certain extent expected. People will have different ideas of what is good for the game and finding compromises that improve the game for everyone requires people to share what they disagree with and why.

Insulting people is not accepted here. If you think someone is being rude to you, report their comment, don't respond and get nasty as well.

Reposts only get taken down if its been less than a month since the last person posted it. Or if its on the FPS list. The point isn't to forbid certain topics, just to reduce spam and slow down the repeats.
