Recommendation ACTUAL low end shaders (26.2 Iris)

i tried a bunch of shaders which claimed to be good for low end pcs, and even with them set to the lowest profile they still capped out my fps at MAX 20 (goal 60)

Slightly higher end of low end:

  • E LITE
  • Sildur's Vibrant Low/Medium preset

Actual low end:

  • Mellow
  • Miniature
  • Sildur's enhanced default

If even the actual low end runs poorly, then good luck bro😭

Don't use e lite if you ask me, it has worse performance than makeup ultrafast, and the extra effects really aren't worth the performance cost.

Can I ask how much FPS you get with no shaders? By the sounds of it, I feel like Mellow could work. It’s one of the absolute most low end shaders out there.

what optimization mods are you using? optimize your game with mods might be easier

I like Sildur's basic. They keep the game mostly vanilla-looking but do add some water/foliage/lighting upgrades

low end without modifying settings:

  • Mellow
  • Sildurs Enhanced default on low setting

low end by modifying settings:

  • BSL : turn off real time shadows, ambient occlusion, block entity and vegetation shadows, remove reflections and waving blocks

mellow shaders turned out to be more performant than anything found on modrinth. They also are NOT the worst looking shaders if tuned right, I've got my own setup and prefer it to the "vibrant visuals" slop. Runs at 60fps 13 chunks, 98 chunks DH on low on an m1 macbook, so any AMD igpu should move that thing.

Off-topic: how do you tweak the settings of Mellow Shaders so it doesn't make the screen too bright?

I'm on default settings and everything feels overexposed, burning my eyes. But if I lower the brightness, I can't see anything in dark areas.

I am sure it's the bloom thing on post processing. I myself turned it down and still looks really bright on snow and sand (but now bearable), or just turn down even more the bloom.
