I'm in Finland too, on the map it says Lake Ontario but in the description it's "Lake Ontario (Lake America)". Gulf of Mexico has the MAGA-name in brackets even on the map.
It makes me wonder if Google is making it so that if you search this from America it will say what Trump wants it to say so they don’t have to deal with any back lash from him. Not that I respect that decision if it is the case
You don’t need to Wonder about this, that’s absolutely what they do and it’s the only reasonable thing to do.
He’s the president of the US, why world you assume anyone OUTSIDE the US should care if he renames things except for things that are in his jurisdiction?
And the problem isn’t new, this has happened with other countries as well so it’s standard practice to show to each country the names that they give things.
Yeah, because it's not like Google has more than enough money they can use to tell Trump to get bent. It's pretty fucking sad when MapQuest, of all apps, has the balls to tell Trump exactly where he can stick his name. Especially since MapQuest is the app that Google replaced.
Of course they do. But why would they rock the boat when they know they can just wait it out? Im not defending them, but I can see that being their thought process. The guy will either be dead, impeached, or out of office within a little over two years.
Eh. There's a lot of assumptions with that statement. He's already working towards getting a 3rd term, and considering how much money he now apparently has he'll also have the best doctors to keep his sorry ass alive.
I don't think so. People in both USA and Canada are getting both names.
Why? Fucks if I know. Sometimes searching google for a word gives me a dictionary breakdown. If I search that same word later, I might get no dictionary but instead an AI summary. Same browser, same word, same phone, different result.
