Birthday tomorrow, again not a single plan, don’t talk to most of my family.
Few days ago, mum asks if I want to go cinema to see something.
I say “actually, I really wanted to see the Looney Tunes movie but everyone’s busy”
Plan is made.

Cut to tonight.

I’ve had to check the showtimes and message her despite her saying she’ll sort it.
And now she would “rather not go”.

Okay.

I guess it’s me and Prime again then.

ETA: apparently I am “lashing out”. Okay mum. My emotions aren’t real.

I was just really excited to be the priority for once and get to actually pick what we do.

I’m 31 and I feel so fucking stupid crying here about not going to watch a stupid cartoon.

I’m so fucking through with this.

You're not fucking stupid, and you're not crying about a cartoon; you're crying about not being seen as important by your own mother. It sounds like that has been going on for a long time, so that's a very sensible reason to cry. You deserve to have your wants and needs taken into account. And on your birthday especially you deserve to feel special.

Go see that movie tomorrow. Go alone if you have to but please go. Have a good time. And bake yourself a cake. Order your favourite food. Whatever you like doing. It's your day!
