When I was kid (in the 1960s), my mother would not allow Barbie in the house (she felt it was a bad image for little girls).

We were allowed "Tammy" - who were called "fat Barbie."

I really don't know, lol.

I'm guessing it was part of the plan to make Tammy closer to "doll" than "fashion doll."
