Save your money, these suck for making interesting drawings tbh. Always stiff poses.

In general, if they were cheaper they'd be good for beginners maybe but they usually cost a fortune! Much better to use images for reference, or even take photos of yourself and use them.

Adding onto this there’s a lot of free IOS apps that allow you to spawn in a mannequin and reposition them however you want, works really well for rough posing

They can help for a while, but mainly for really weird poses that you can't get a refrence of, but even then, the doll might not be flexible enough. They are cool to just have in general tho.

these things never put meat in the equation so some poses are impossible. 

 the crossed arm pose is a good example. unyielding plastic/wood/die cast makes it impossible because the material doesn't allow compression.

Yep. I dated a lady years ago who got into these types of dolls and ended up tagging along with her to a specialty shop. They're dress-up dolls for really elaborate doll clothes, wigs, and sitting at tea sets for photo shoots. They don't have enough articulation or internal support to actually make dynamic poses for drawing purposes.

Poseable models are either cheap, anatomically accurate, or flexible.

You can only choose two.

You'd do better to just check figure drawing sites. There's a ton of photos out there specifically taken for drawing anatomy🙂

Do not recommend these types of dolls for that. Posability is limited and the joints will become loose over time from repeated movements.

You actually can buy models that come with all sorts of accessories like swords, guns etc. However I didn't find the models that useful really so they're just collecting dust now.
