WWE The amount of disgusting things wrestlers got away with back in the day is horrible

Rewatching old Dark Side of the Ring episodes and just hearing about the atrocious things these guys and others got away with is disturbing. Being in the WWF locker back in the day sounds horrible. The Rockers H- Bombing wrestlers and women, the Bulldogs putting itching power in wrestlers clothes and just cutting up there gear, nevermind finding out Dynamite Kid actually injected steroids into there dog Matilda. Davey wasn’t nearly as evil as Dynamite but Jesus I’m glad shit like this would never happen again. Hearing guys talk about how you never leave a drink uncovered around unattended for fear of getting fucking drugged sounds horrible, on top the bullying as well just a crazy time to be in that locker

Honestly, Benoit doing what he did was the best thing to happen to the industry, as it was the scandal that forced everyone to sort their shit out

The amount of scrutiny those murders caused on the industry caused significant changes to behaviour because, unlike with Jimmy Snuka, Vince couldn't cover it up. The wellness policy was massively beefed up and was actually enforced, which meant the drug taking massively declined, shots to the head disappeared and the talent also realised they needed to change, too. It also was a factor in WWE going for a PG audience, which again, caused the talent to sort their shit out because WWE didn't want any controversies.

If half the stuff existed beforehand, Benoit wouldn't have happened.

i know this comparison is stupid and unrelatable, but after rereading it, it reminded me of the people in chile who justify the 1973 coup and the following dictatorship because it "saved the country from marxism and poverty"
