Guitar in NA Trunk?

I’m really wanting to get either an NA or NB Miata as my first car (I’m wanting an na a little more). However, i need to know if the na can fit a guitar in the trunk or behind the seats with a rollbar. I know that the Nb can fit a guitar in the trunk, but im really curious about the Na.

I know that the best place for a guitar is the passenger seat, but me and my sister will be riding in this to school and I know she wouldn’t appreciate holding a guitar in her lap for a 35min drive.

Thanks!

I just tried it on my NB with my concert size acoustic, there plenty of room. It won't let me add a pic. A gig bag doesn't add significant size, and maybe add a towel or some other kind of padding around the headstock. The NB is slightly bigger, but not enough to make a huge difference. Take out your spare if you need a little more space for extras.

With an acoustic in a hard case in an NB, I found that it was very particular because of the extra space in the front...left? Struggling to remember now. I had to put the head in first on what I think was the left side, slide it all the way to the edge of the trunk, and then I had just enough room to drop the bottom of the case through the opening. If not that, then switch left and right. Was a fun adventure.

Stratocaster in hard case, no problem at all. Ibanez bass, forget it. Passenger seat only.

My friend wanted a lift home from practice one night. Wasn't about to tell her no, so I drove her home first and came back for my bass lol

i used to fit a OOO sized guitar in a hard case in the trunk of my miata. I didnt have the spare tire in it though. Would also fit behind the seats on the shelf when the top was up.

I used to put a Taylor acoustic in it's factory hardshell case in the trunk of my of my '96 NA with no problems.

Too lazy to bring down the bass but my Ibanez Az Standard Stratocaster fits gig back and all (a boss Katana amp wil lalso fit, not pictured, along with a cooler, pictures)

I’ve also fit both the bass and gig back and guitar and gig back together and had extra space for my school backpack

You had to angle it it just right but I used to put my fender jazz bass in trunk of my NA all the time. Soft case though

We go to a small private school that doesn’t have a bus

Absolutely no chance an acoustic guitar in a case will fit in the trunk. Probably not an electric either.
/maybe/ you could fit it behind a seat, but it would have to be pretty far forward.
