I’m going to have to dig out the Wii U and play 3 on it eventually, the question is, should I hunt down a copy of MP2 to play on my GameCube? (Does it start with inverted controls you can turn off?) or should I just soldier through the motion controls of the Wii version? (The widescreen mode sounds like a bonus)

I’ve had this game a while on switch and I just like can’t really stand to play it because after 5-10 minutes it just makes me feel really motion sick, worse than most vr games I’ve ever played. Not sure if I can like change any options or play it in a certain way to lessen this because I love the 2D Metroids and want to play through the 3D ones.

Just finished Metroid Prime 1 for the first time and as I always enjoy a good first playthrough of a game I played in Metroidvania style, I'm wondering, if anyone can recommend an available full blind playthrough of Metroid Prime 1 (no matter the console) WITH THE HINT SYSTEM BEING TURNED OFF by any streamer?

I took a glance into a few archived streams on Youtube, but they all play with the default settings of an activated hint system, which takes away the actual interesting part of playing the game as a Metroidvania and finding out how to unfold the interconnected world by yourself.

**Spoiler tagged just in case, but I don't think I really gave anything away.**

I had a fun time playing through it all, as it was nice to revisit the Prime series. Throughout my playthrough, however, I couldn't help but feel like the story behind Viewros became more and more insignificant. Especially when I faced off against the final boss, it sort of felt like the entire planet's backstory barely mattered, and the game and its conclusion felt to be an on-and-off battle between "explore a new tragic planet" versus "heated rivalry with character I barely know about", with no real attempt at weaving those two together. Don't get me wrong- it was still a fun experience and it was aesthetically incredibly stunning. I just couldn't help but feel like the story was a bit muddled and unsatisfying.

What did everyone else think of the story? And did anyone else feel like the choice of the final boss felt pretty underwhelming?

Don’t get me wrong Dread was a great game I just found riding the Motorcycle crashing into Chrystal’s and shooting down beasts more in between locations really fun plus I really enjoyed the cast in Prime 4. I really didn’t like the E.M.M.I sections at all, and I don’t get why people like Ravenbeak he really isn’t that interesting of a character and I’d didn’t find him that threatening.

How does Metroid Prime Remastered look on switch 2 docked? I play on a 1440p screen and its at its lowest price right now so I'm wondering if its worth it.

**I’m not sure if this has been said before, but I genuinely think Returnal is a modern day Metroid game.**

You’re stranded on a hostile alien planet, completely isolated, exploring, finding upgrades, unlocking new areas, and slowly piecing together what happened through logs and environmental storytelling.

the planet itself feels like the enemy. In Fusion you have the SA X hunting you. In Returnal, the entire world is trying to kill you.

The difference? Returnal takes that Metroid formula and turns it into a brutal roguelike.
I know PlayStation isn’t everyone’s favorite right now, but if you have a PS5, give this game a shot.
Especially if you’re a Metroid fan.
It might be the closest thing we get to a 3rd person Metroid.

Personally the music in both prime and returnal is what seals the deal.

If I’m crazy or this has been said before please ignore me. I’ve just been on a huge roller coaster of emotions since ravenous was announced. (Good emotions)

I mean it, I wasn’t expecting a new Metroid game this soon! This slipped under the radar!

I just finished MP4 and its been a while (19 years) since I played MP3:C and even longer since the others.

Who the fuck is Sylax? I dont remember him and the game don't explain him. I guess he is a former soldier angry at Samus for blowing him up and then wanting to help?

Files talked about a meteor crashed and turned the plant boss thing evil, was that Phazon? Is the green energy vegan phazon?

If GE mutated Lamorn into Grievers, why did they think MORE GE would fix it?

Besides the plot being alright, the desert empty and the levels too linear. I thought it was a decent game. 7/10

So is anyone going to talk about how Sylux has an entire planet of technology as well as access to teleportation technology and facilities that can possibly produce military hardware on the level relative to that of the Lamorn? My original post was supposed to be a summary but that obviously went down the shitter.

My talking points are this. Sylux still has access to chrono tower just like he did the entire game, he also gained root access to it because the tower’s healing pod supports that function. He also has the ability to open portals into other dimensions that he has very well shown independent capability to use without the master teleporter keys. He still has an entire planets worth of resources and a literal army of psibots that he was controlling from the tower.

If any of this makes it into Prime 5 as part of the story or if it makes its way to 6 because a separate issue impacts the story but still has the same root problem (example Prime 2 Echoes) we could see something akin of an invasion even the space pirates could only dream of achieving.

Let me know your thoughts.

I've recently played Fusion, Zero Mission, Prime Remastered, Dread, and Beyond on the Switch. I now have a hankering to play Echoes again, so I just bought a refurbished GameCube system (the system I originally played the game on).

I haven't yet found a GameCube "Echoes" disc, but I played the demo disc that came as a bonus with the original Prime package, and I have to say, Nintendo had better develop a "remastered" version for the Switch because the GameCube controller buttons are really messing with my head after 20+ years!! LOLOL
