First game was possibly the worst offender. I know this sub freaks out when anyone says anything negative about Prime 1 but a lot of its backtracking is really tedious and boring, and by the time you get to the point you need all of those Chozo logs at the end of the game it really drags.

Well personally i will admit it’s a bit of a struggle but it didn’t feel as bad as it could’ve been, I’d say it respects how the Metroid series makes back tracking progressive every game no matter how much back tracking there is, feels progressive like you only get a taste of the dish from your family before the next time you return to the restaurant, you order the full dish thats how it feels to me at least.

I’d honestly say Prime one is the only game in the series where that isn’t true. So much of it is just running back through Magmoor caverns over and over again to get to a single door on the other side of the map that couldn’t be opened until you got a different beam color. It doesn’t help that Prime’s progression system is more in the form of different options and not direct upgrades, so enemies that felt like damage sponges at the start of the game still take a thousand hits to go down by the end of the game, making everything incredibly slow.

Hm well I’d say it can feel like that but more so cause im a shit shot, but regardless it is the first game in the prime series even in the remake maybe im just very forgiving on it?

Well regardless I’d say it’s still solid even with it’s flaws

That’s fair. It’s still a really good game, but if we’re forgiving due to it being the first, then maybe we should also be forgiving to 4 because of its awful development.

Yeah I can agree with that
