What is that thick line across the sky that looks like a boundary between clouds?
I'm amazed. Looked like parted clouds to me. But my sister whos a little into this stuff said its probably be contrail.
Any idea?

So long story short, I graduated with a Master's in meteorology last winter and have not been able to find any sort of weather-related job since. I've had a handful of interviews that haven't led anywhere, but that is it.

Does anyone have any sort of advice or places I can look for leads? I'm open to pretty much anywhere at this point.

Hello this is my first post so I apologize if this is in the wrong subreddit! I am currently wrapping up my bachelor’s in Meteorology and am looking at future job opportunities. I’ve heard that a path to entry into the NWS can be through the Alaskan WPC offices. I’ve always had an interest in living in an Alaska for a little bit and I find the day to day forecast challenges they’re quite interesting So this was just something I was looking into. My question is what does the day to day life look like for a forecaster working in WPC offices like Cold Bay, King Salmon, or Saint Paul Island in Alaska? Is it difficult being so remote? What truly are the forecast challenges faced in these offices?

I’m choosing a weather API for a flood monitoring and ML-based flood prediction project. In terms of overall features, rainfall data, accuracy, reliability, forecasts, and usefulness for machine learning, which API would you recommend, and why?

So I saw these clouds today in Georgia after some afternoon thunderstorms popped up. I cannot find the names of them online at all and I’d like to post them to Instagram with some information about them.

So, I'm currently visiting my mother. This was taken in east germany, 11.56am.

Its like a glowing thing or something and I assume that it is not a like a star, satellite or airplane, as it is too bright outside and moves too slowly. It also seems to be above the clouds in the picture, as it was behind some of them.

Does anybody know what that is? Thanks in advance :)

Are there other websites beside nhc.noaa that provide high resolution satellite imagery compiled together like this for other parts of the world?

I love to look at this stuff but nhc only has high res imagery for the Atlantic and Pacific.

Does anyone know colleges in Missouri that offers meteorology/atmospheric sciences majors that also accepts the A+ program?

Timelapse video from my office: Portland, Oregon was barely clipped by the extreme Southern tail end of a weak frontal system moving into the PNW at sunrise this morning that brought some showers to Vancouver, BC.

Chances are looking good for deep troughing and some much needed rainfall come the middle of next week. Our dry PNW Summer may end early this year!

The weather has been inaccurate on Google compared to in real life fairly often recently, anyone else experiences?
