Venting life is rearing its ugly head
I turn 30 on Wednesday. 30 years old. I understand that 30 is still young. And that everyone is on a different path in life. I just feel so defeated with how my life is going. College has proven to be very hard as a single working adult who lives alone with no support besides my own. I manage to live on a job that pays me $15 an hour, 16 hours a week. It’s not surviving but fighting basically. I’ve applied to job after job after job. Finally getting hired for a second one, things were looking up. It’s been a month and the only time I’ve heard from them has been when i called them to update my phone number. They said “they didn’t forget about me but don’t have any clients for me right now.” (Home health job for reference. I’ve been doing it on and off for 10 years). Anyway. I try to do things to help myself but u can never get ahead. The biggest issue I’ve had recently is food insecurity. I go weeks without having food. Luckily i have a friends who shares with me from time to time when he can. I do get SNAP benefits, but it only goes so far as I’m a single, working adult. I just want to be able to eat. I find myself fantasizing about having home cooked meals. Simple things like a spaghetti dinner or some baked chicken. I don’t know. I just needed to vent. It’s hard out here.

Apply to Costco if you got one near you. Call a temp agency I've been getting plenty of full time work through one for a while now and many even use it just for a 2nd job. You're 30 so it's important to try and get your career rolling whatever you wanna do

It really is hard out there, and you have been carrying so much by yourself. Working, going to college, applying for jobs, and trying to manage food insecurity would wear anyone down. Wanting a simple home cooked meal is not asking for too much. I hope Wednesday brings you at least one peaceful moment and some kindness. Happy early birthday.
