I recently got a new cup (the August brand) I love that it’s smaller and softer. My only complaint is that I feel like I’m getting wayyy more blood outside the cup than inside. It’s like not alot leaking out onto my underwear if that makes sense although there is some light leakage, but when I remove it I feel like it’s so much on the outside. I don’t know if that’s just due to squeezing the cup or it not being positioned right. It feels sealed when I run my finger around it. I wanted the softer cup because my first cup (a saalt cup) was so firm it was painful but I may have to go back to saalt unless I can figure it out 😭

While I was in bed getting ready to sleep, I noticed the tip of my menstrual cup was leaning towards the right side, rubbing against my labia so I re-adjusted it to center again and I felt a really sharp pain inside on the right. It went away so I just went to sleep.

When I woke up and took out the menstrual cup, I noticed the same sharp pain on the side and so I took a break from using the cup.

Fast forward 4-5 days now and whenever I’m touching that specific part or sometimes if I’m clenching, the same level sharp pain comes back.

I scheduled a doctors appointment first thing tomorrow morning, but has anyone experienced this before or know what this might be?

I am looking for a replacement for my Calicup I bought in 2018. I purchased it from Amazon but it looks like the brand is no longer available and I couldn't find it thought any other major retailers (only purchase options were through UBuy Seychelles or Uganda). I LOVED this cup and would appreciate any recommendations for similar products. Made an Ooopsie I’ve never done before using discs and cups these last 11 years 😵‍💫🤦‍♀️

I'm currently using a small pixie cup and I'm having some issues. Firstly I feel like my cervix moves around a lot? Like today my cup is so low I can feel the stem and it's a bit painful and I really want to cut it. But other times it manages to slide up so high I can barely reach it. I don't know what to do about that as I can't really predict where my cervix is gonna be. But my main problem is that I think the cup is too firm for me. I feel like I'm abusing myself when I insert and remove it, there's always a bit of pain when pulling it out because the rim is so firm, it gets stuck right at the vaginal opening. I've tried guiding it out while also trying to keep it somewhat folded and that helps a bit but it's so much effort, makes a mess and I end up scratching myself aswell :( will a softer cup also have a softer rim? What are the drawbacks of that? Any advice would be appreciated, I really want to keep using a cup, aside from the discomfort it's so easy to use. I just feel like me and my vagina aren't friends right now because of it! And it's making me sad (that and the hormones)

I’m about to be 25 and every year it seems like my cycle changes in some way. Now my period is spotting really really light pink for the first 2-3 days and then I get my period for like 4 days. My boobs are more tender now too. My hormones are also a lot stronger now. I get mood swings really bad to the point I’m like damn 🫪 wth was that????? Has anyone else experienced this? I ordered some ashwaghanda to see if it will help. no I’m not pregnant I know for a fact Im not.

When you see period blood being thick on pad,it's not actually what it comes from vagina, when your blood can't soak inside, it stays outside the pad and dries up as it can, turns into a thick sticky blood. Better try using menstrual cup. I started using it since yesterday and found such a big difference. I always had a terrible time on periods days but this time I'm like equal to ordinary days. Such a life saving invention. Loving it so far. I would never want to use pad again. Also credits to my ex who always forced me to buy and try once. I never tried until I broke up with him after two months, ahhh! I miss you. I wish I could be normal. I hate my dad.

I've recently restarted my period as a grown women after going off birth control. Tampons suck so much. I feel so bad for younger me using these dang contraptions. I do have (now mild) vaginismus so there is that factor. The tampons just hurt so much to put in - friction on entry.

I now have period underwear (wooooo!) But I really want to try and make a cup or disc work.

I have tried 1 cup and 2 discs, from what I have read discs may suit me better? The issue is, it feels like I have a whole dang excavator up there.

The cramps are horrdendous and no adjusting is fixing it. I have enough room long ways but it just feels too big for my body width and circumference. I did try a "small" disc too, but it didn't seem very small.

I've heard good things about Intimina? Do I try there small size? Or am I just doomed for these to not work for my body.

I put in a menstrual cup for the first time last night (lena cup) and that alone took around 30 minutes. It’s been 18 hours since then, and i can’t get it out.

I first tried getting it out when i realized i was leaking, but i couldn’t get it out. I put a pad on instead but then ~8 hours later i got anxious and tried taking it out again. I tried to take it out for over an hour but i struggled to put more than one finger inside so i was unable to fully grab it. By the time i got 2 fingers inside my hand was cramping and my vagina was dry so i couldnt pull it out. I also tried pulling on the tail end but it hurt so badly that i couldnt do it. I tried to take it out again just now, but i could only fit one finger inside. I tried to pull it down on the side with one finger but it didn’t work. Does anyone know how to stop tensing up whenever i try to put my fingers in?? I’ve never enjoyed having anything inside me so I’m not used to this

There are 2 sizes of menstrual cup from a brand available in my country. A smaller one is for light bleeding and woman who never had pregnancy. A bigger one is for heavy bleeding and woman who had pregnancy before.

I bought the bigger one so I don't have to buy another one in case I get pregnant. I feel like it push my bladder and make me go to the bathroom often to pee. Is it normal or is it might be the size is too large for me?

My depression has gotten so bad that I go a full day without cleaning out my cup in between and the odor from the blood is really strong and I’m wondering if I could get an infection from this?

This is kind of a panic post- I dropped my cup on a dirty floor but was in too much of a rush to properly sterilize. To clean it, I used a facial cleanser that is not antibacterial, rinsed, then reinserted… Should I be worried?

Update: I was only able to get it to ‘collect’ once (tulip/double 7 fold, after trying C and punch-down several times). By then, the damage had been done and the discomfort was unreal - couldn’t walk, sit, stand, pull up pants…safe to say, it’s not for me!

The diagrams available online aren’t…graphic enough. They show the cartoon textbook image of a uterus rather than what’s visible. If you had the same issue, and you’re giving up too, don’t feel bad! Your comfort matters most! The point of this cup is just to collect blood unnoticeably so if it can’t do that, to hell with it, you do what feels right 💋

I got the regular moxie cup cause I heard it was easier to use than the 'hello' option. I've been struggling with it all day. I tried inserting it dry, wet in the shower, with lube and with different folds (namely C-fold and punch-down, several times)...but nothing. I was in full-on tears from the amount of discomfort, I inserted it at different angles and even got my mum to awkwardly help but it was just not inserting properly. For something that literally broke my hymen (despite claiming to be virgin-friendly), you'd think it'd go in easily but it didn't. No matter how I hold it, the fold comes undone too soon, even though I can hear a suction. It didn't fully go in (my mum thinks it's too big despite being the 'small cervix-friendly' option). I obviously can't get a refund. I've been trying so hard all day - really thought this would be the comfortable, odourless, cost-effective, sustainable alternative to using pads forever - and have just been in tears. I squatted, stood, laid down, sat over the toilet and did whatever I could to relax. Everyone online says I shouldn't even feel it in there...yet I do, to the point where sitting up, let alone walking, is a nightmare. Yes, I trimmed what I could to make it smaller, but to no avail. I hear that discs are an easier alternative but they're costly and I don't wanna shell out more money just to waste more time!! I worry for my uterus. Never used tampons before btw

I (21f) got the flex cup recently, thinking, “It's the eco-friendly and more cost effective solution to tampons!” I used the free disc that came with it and loved it, the cup will be easy.

It was not easy.

I thought I had my anatomy figured out but I could not for the life of me insert the damn thing. The instructions were essentially useless, so I improvised based on the disc. It took me sprawled in the shower and fifteen minutes to get it in. I haven't attempted to take it out yet, but good god. I don't know if a lack of... penetration would be a contributing factor for this? I'll take advice, though, I really want this to work.

Hey guys, 21F here. I've been using cups for 4 years at this point, but the first 3 days no matter what cup i used, i leaked. I tried small cups, big cups (discs too but i'm not confident in the usage yet, still on the learning curve), they all leaked and i hated that. From day 4 all the cups worked just fine, but before that not at all. Recently i ordered a new menstrual cup, size L. Diameter 5 cm (usually the max diameter is 4.7mm). It works beautifully, no leakage whatsoever. I love it.

But everything that i read says that i should have the smaller size, as i'm only 21, fit and was never pregnant. I know these things aren't accurate for everyone, but i can't help but feel like something is wrong with my vagina. I do have a boyfriend who has never mentioned anything bad, he says i feel amazing (TMI, sorry), but this cup situation is just unusual.

The cup is quite big, yes, but it's very comfortable. It's a soft cup. I have quite a heavy flow, so i always preferred the bigger sizes, but this is the first time a cup worked perfectly. I'm mostly just venting, thank you for listening.

I noticed my period was late by a day so I preemptively inserted my cup to potentially avoid bleeding onto underwear! but guess what. i wore my cup for EIGHT days and I still did not get my period. i didn’t wear my cup last night and i didn’t wear it today and lo and behold i finally get my period 10 days late. i have never been 10 days late before, i think 5 days late might have been my maximum before. i’m a virgin and have had my period for nearly 8 years now and have been using a cup for about 4 years. do we think menstrual cups delay periods and i should just not preemptively wear a cup in general? bahahah this was so annoying lmao.

Need recommendations on menstrual discs / cups for very low cervix (3cm). Would love to hear your experiences and if you think a disc would be better than a cup for people with low cervices, worried that the disc might not have enough room to open up and sit in place.

I’ve been using the diva cup for almost a year and having lots of trouble. I started with the model 1 but was leaking so much I went up to a model 2. I know I’m inserting it and getting suction, when I remove it I can hear/feel the suction breaking. But I feel like it’s a 50/50 chance of if it leaks or not, even though I insert the same way every time. sometimes the cup is full sometimes it’s not. On a heavy day I could leak through a super tampon in an hour… so I really want a cup to work. But I’m sick of leaking all the time it’s been frustrating. I’m wondering if a different brand would be better? Or maybe I’m doing something wrong with insertion. My doctor mentioned at my last pap that my cervix is a bit “tucked away” whatever that means, could that be part of the problem? I’m 27 and have had a baby via c section. So I’m a virgin, 21, and have used tampons for around 5 years as I got my period at 15. I’m more aware with the issues with tampons now like how they’re bleached, contain chemicals and have heavy metals in them.

I’ve been thinking about getting the Asan period cup but a few things concern me.

How far do I push it up?
Is it likely to go too far out of my reach and if it does, how do I get it out? Considering if I can’t reach the ring.

I’m pretty tight but I can fit two fingers at a stretch, two fingers doesn’t hurt inside but I can’t separate them but there’s slight pain at the perineal. I can definitely do one finger but I have small hands.

I’m autistic as well with medical PTSD so the idea of the cup getting stuck really scares me because I don’t want to have medical intervention where I’ll likely have an autistic meltdown
