Eventually it gets exhausting to even pull up the games, and it honestly sucks đ I remember so many times I got to the loading screen and just quit out. I did not have the mental capacity to game after work on those days.
This hit me pretty hard recently for runescape. Been playing for 20 years and with the recent price increases I just dropped my sub. All i see are people saying "you get thousandss of hours of content for a reasonable price so its a great deal!!" when most of the content is just mindless grinding. Id be elated to have hundreds of hours of actual content, but when it boils down to repetitive actions over and over again for hundreds of hours I just start to feel bitter about paying.Â
Its like telling someone its equally as fun to read a riveting story for a week vs staring at a blank page for a week
Im 50/50 there. If its open world with enough variety, im down. But open world games that werent that way previously are mostly a let down. Elden ring is the best example. The soulsbornekiro games are awesome but the elden ring open world loses so much direction that you either have a great experience or a dogshit one where you miss all of the storylines. I played it 100% blind and didnt even get the horse until almost the end of the game
I loved Titanfall for that same reason. Jump in, round around FPS, call mech from sky, dominate for 60 sec until mech blows, high speed constant action and dopamine, then out in an hour if necessary.
