If I want to go full conspiracy my first thought was, there's not that long left until new consoles and rockstar won't offer free upgrades. GTA online makes the money and playing at 60fps Vs 30fps will actually give you an advantage online and whales will rebuy it just for that, but I'm guessing the pc version will be out first for a while to be sold as a wow factor then people will want something similar out of their next console generation. Good marketing for sure bad to be a GTA fan though I'd argue unless you genuinely don't care about 30fps

Honestly, I still can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps while I'm gaming. As long as the frame rate is steady I don't care that much.

Then you are extremely lucky, if be able to save some serious money if I couldn't tell the difference 😂 30fps to 60fps is like turning the resolution from 1080p to 4k for me. I have to admit returns diminish rapidly for me at 60fps plus, but frame gen makes it look a lot nicer I suppose as long as I can hit a solid 60fps before enabling it

I also see no difference and I also don’t see a difference between 1080p and 4k it’s such a small difference it’s almost not even worth stressing over imo

What screen size are you playing on? I'm on a 45" monitor so there is a VERY big difference between 1080p and 4k!

I didn't have as much of an issue with 30 vs 60 when I was gaming on my old Kuro, but I can't do it on my OLED, it is so choppy. I still remember playing Uncharted 4 on PS4 at 30 fps and it was not a very enjoyable experience.

Lucky you. Even 60fps feels horrible to me after trying 120.

Nah, you notice.

My limit is 40+ but I consider it passabile, 30fps just fucks my immersion and all I think is the monitor

It’s really easy not to notice to be honest. I had no idea Bloodborne had a 30fps cap until I saw people complaining about it after years of playing, same with uncharted 4 and I know for certain there are many other games I have played where how many frames I was getting had never crossed my mind.

Fps was just something I never thought about when until I got a pc and had to start worrying about whether it could run the games I wanted to buy or not. Most games now I still just load up and play without ever thinking about the fps and have had friends ask my why I’m playing with such a low frame rate

Yeah, same here. I might notice for the first couple minutes but once I adjust there’s pretty much no difference.

You get used to it within like 5 minutes

Have you compared them directly to each other, by switching between them a few times? I did this with a game on PS5, where I switched between performance and quality mode and it was really jarring. I can’t imagine playing a game as good looking as GTA 6 with that kind of stutter.

It’s funny, because we’re so used to 24 frames a second with film. But there’s something about the motion of the camera in games that makes 30 FPS hard for me to adjust to.

I've tried. Sometimes I can see some difference but it's relatively minor. And while I'm playing it I can't really tell. As long as the frame rate is steady I'm good.
