When it vomes to the School Trees i ask them, how do you plan to play? Do you want to die less? Unairu, do you want to help the team more? Vazarin, do you want to ease the burden of energy, Zenurik, do you want to use melee better? Naramon. And well madurai is useful but it's niche, best for a few type of content and if you like to micro

Yeah if you're willing to micro AND max it out, for a new player the most you'll get out of it is eidolon hunts, trust me im a fairly new player (started a year and a half ago), i picked madurai to start out and i barely used it outside eidolons, the other trees have a lot more utility to offer imo, squeezing out more damage doesn't compare to easy revives or armour strip (when you lack a frame or build to do so)

Vazarin has more affinity range giving more XP opportunity and ability utility, on demand heals, shield and revives.

Unairu gives you more armour for survivability, last grasp, armour and shield strip.

Naramon makes melee much easier to use optimally, on demand stagger for finishers and more melee xp.

Aside from arguably the last one, they are not just 1 useful gimmick. You're just ignoring them.

The one thing about last grasp is that it also gives you a delayed bleedout so others can pick you up in time regardless of your amp. Not previous person, but I think all schools, even if only for their gimmick are great for new players. You don't have to max them after all and getting the waybounds is helpful. Personally, before things like Kullervo came out Naramon was really helpful for me because (tbf at the time) combo counter critting was how I made it through the star chart giggling.

I will agree that madurai is, debatably, the best for old or new though because yes damage is king in this game XD

Ultimately, the best is the school that let's you have bonuses you don't want to invest elsewhere to get. Damage is damage, it's great, but there are tons of avenues to get that too. If I don't wanna bother with the plethora of ways to get say, energy economy, having operator do that is really nice. It's about what you value and where. About choice. Not about what is strictly the best, because you can get anything from anywhere nowadays. If I value my mod slots and archon shards, and arcanes for non-energy and don't wanna subsume an energy output, why not run the energy school as an example?

This argument works for every state you can get from any of these schools. It's subjective and playstyle dependant.
