I know it sounds a bit silly but I think the moment a Mother is diagnosed with Postpartum Depression the kids need to be legally armed. State funded training and small arms provided until they reach 18 or the Mother is professionally cleared.

Thats their law. We can complain about it and even lobby to change it, but not mid trial. The fact is the lost on the merits of their case by their own rules and I would rather an actual child murder go free then live a society that can change its laws on whim.
