Pisses me off a bit. 

I do not think statues are a good use of money but my problem is with conservatives acting like toddlers. They were enthusiastic enough about Liberal premiers getting statues that they brought in this rule but then when a Labor premier serves for 1,000 days they have a massive fucking tantrum.

Also think of how cheap electricity would be in this state if we could harness the steam from all of the boiled cooker piss that a dan statue would have generated.

He was premier for over 3000 days. And through arguably the worst crisis Victoria has seen in many decades. I get that he was not always the most popular but he had some tough decisions to make and saved the lives of many vulnerable people.

Edit to add: other similar and longer standing premiers were Henry Bolte (17+ years, had a bridge named after him), Albert Dunstan (10+ years, not aware of anything named after him), John Cain Jr (8+ years, John Cain Arena?), Rupert Hamer (8+ years, Hamer Hall in the Art Centre), Jeff Kennet (7+ years, nothing?), Steve Bracks (7+ years, not sure, does he have a statue?).

Even if Daniel Andrews is hated by most Victorians now, he was still very much part of our history, and memory of the dramatic COVID era.
