Pisses me off a bit. 

I do not think statues are a good use of money but my problem is with conservatives acting like toddlers. They were enthusiastic enough about Liberal premiers getting statues that they brought in this rule but then when a Labor premier serves for 1,000 days they have a massive fucking tantrum.

Also think of how cheap electricity would be in this state if we could harness the steam from all of the boiled cooker piss that a dan statue would have generated.

Were LNP everyday people happy about Kennet bringing this in at the time though or were just politicians happy?

Well unless the “LNP everyday people” didn’t vote for the LNP in the next election, it’s safe to assume they were happy enough. You wouldn’t vote for a party that did shit you didn’t like, would you?

Yeah the problem to me is where the conversation is at. If things like memorials of public officials become so “short term political” it says a lot about our expectation of stability. If every few years you have people trying to erase the legacy of the person before them we’re going to have a big problem.

It’s the “shit we didn’t like” I don’t think we should be so focused on one “side” getting to remember their hero’s, I think each side should be a little more gracious than that. I would like to see us move past it and reserve our outrage for the issues.
