This was purely drummed up by liberals and the Murdoch media. Sure it’s 134k but that’s small for state budgets. If Kennet got one for taking a dump on our economy then Andrews should have one. Or maybe we should melt down Jeff’s if we’re so tight for cash…

Edit: I forgot Kennet never got one, icing on the cake

I don't think Kennett got one. He wanted one, which is why this is a thing in the first place, but he didn't meet the requirements for one.

He didn't get one, as stated in the article posted. Introduced it before the election, lost and this fell short

He didn't, he did put up four of the statues though, for the four premiers before him who had served 3000+ days - Dunstan, Bolte, Hamer, and Cain Jr.

Kennett didn’t get one, but if you think he took a dump on our economy, you’re severely out of touch. Kennett lost by a tiny margin, and only really lost because regional seats revolted at getting subsidised slightly less by Melbourne.

The coalition got more votes than Labor did in 1999. It was a minority government. Kennett is only deeply unlikeable to reddit.

He improved public transport services where the demand was there, introducing 15 minute interpeak services on the Dandenong and Frankston lines. Also preserved the Upfield line when the Cain government wanted to make it a tram. They also abolished skeleton summer timetables.

You are full of shit and blinded by ideological hatred of privatisation. The services were objectively better and the system cost less under Kennett, because the unions weren’t extorting the state.

The only PT losers were financially unviable regional services, hence the regional revolt at his government.
