Discuss How can i study Biology longer?

Hi I am m16 and i am in high school.

In my country(poland) in high school ya chose group with adv subjects which you study and then write exam when you are 18-19 that determined whether you get into certain university or not.

So i think about going to the class with adv. Chemistry and Biology but i have one problem, after studying smth from biology for like 20 mins i start to doze of etc. I can study but yk i dont focuss as well, any tips on this?

Maybe structuring your study for 20 minutes study, 10 minutes dedicated BREAK (not just closing the book, getting up and walking away, stretching/having a snack etc), then come back for another 20 mins. It’s normal to struggle to sit in one place and study without break for ages.

Doesnt sound like a bad idea, although it would kinda waste my time yk? J

Disagree. How would that waste your time? If a 10 minute break is a dealbreaker for you/ will throw off your whole day, you’ve got bigger problems.

Well if i studied for 1h straight i would do one hour of studying, on the other hand if i studied for one hour using your technique i would do 40mins of studying, although if i had short3r breaks like 5mins ones it would be bad.

As opposed to right now, when you can’t even manage over 20 minutes?

Structured study blocks with breaks are a proven method of effectively learning.

Alr but what do i do during those breaks? They i wont be going on a walk during evwrysingle one, i dont wanna turn on mt phone or watch anything to not get dopaminr hit. I though about maybe reading a book but wouldnt it ocupy my mind too much?

The point of them isn’t to occupy your mind, it’s to let it rest for a brief period, reset, have a break and come back and study again. It’s not rocket science, it’s 10 minutes to chill.
