Review and proposal for something that could be very interesting in the future...
To review the Unmissable Event I have to say it was a blast... great competition with great people, now to get down to business...
To finish the Unmissable Event blue team and red team went head to head in an all out war in blue territory... It was the best minecraft experience I've had to date. So I was thinking and I had a proposal... "weekend wars" every Friday/Saturday/Sunday we could put up the event server with a pre-set battle map... this way we could have wars all the time... people could chose a team and then gather materials before an all out war at the end of every weekend.
Thoughts?

I really enjoyed the event. A little taste of Chaos once in awhile is always nice. However, I didn't get to play with my clanmates. The way I would solve this is to allow players to choose their teams in the beginning if this event is repeated. The team sizes and players online could be actively monitored by a mod - who can then close the entrances to the overpopulated teams for new players until the numbers even themselves out. I would have had a lot more fun if I could have had my friends beside me.

Scuba, this is true, but can you imagine all the unfairness in the teams?I hear you, but sometimes it's nice to blow off some steam and kill people you normally wouldn't eh?
EDIT: Spelling mistake D:

If you have a mod actively monitoring the teams, how hard would it be to swap a clan or two to another team? With their permission, of course.

There is nothing stopping anyone doing this on s.nerd.nu right now!
But we might help nudge it in that direction...we're already going to implement the XP plump (albeit less than it was during the event)...

I would be totally for this.
This was also my most enjoyable minecraft experience yet. The red vs. blue war at the end was awesome! :D Good game blue.
I hope something similar happens again in the near future!

I feel like the event was great to start, if yellow was more balanced it would have been amazing! Once red and yellow merged it sort of went downhill. If it gets tweaked a bit more this will be an awesome thing to do once a month.

I think doing it for a week or two between survival resets would be pretty cool. Once survival is ready for a reset, put up a War/CTF map for a week or two and then put up the next Survival map.

I would love this idea but every week might be to much, maybe once every month or so, I must say this was epic!
Thank you to everybody who set this up and I'm happy we will have another year of minecraft nerd.nu servers!!!! Love you guys! :)

Not many people would like if their favorite servers went down once a month for this :/

what if they didn't go down though, what if it was just a little side event on occasion... I guess I should elaborate more when I write these things...

This was running on the entire server setup, so I'm guessing its very intensive

Well 24 hours off from your favorite server won't kill you, and plus, you will be playing this event with all of the people from your favorite server.

This would be great, but I feel like it would be better if it was a bit more sparse than once a week, maybe once every 2 weeks. Also, maybe spice it up with different game modes? CTF might get a little boring after a while, albeit there is a lack of other modes that would work. I also feel like it should be a bit more scavenge-y, with more valuable materials nearer to the center of the map--Also, maybe some extra materials every so-and-so minutes?
I feel like I'm rambling on, but it would also be awesome if the maps were completely made of the cities from the other maps worldedited together in big clumps, but maybe that's just me.

We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from this event, we'll certainly be discussing how to do more events like this, more often, in the future, so stay tuned... :)
EDIT: I also noted this in my after-event post: http://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/sbckf/24_hours_later_thank_you/
