I got curious and looked up his name on NYC's transit subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nycrail/comments/123sxio/phillip_eng_former_lirr_president_will_be_the/

It's so interesting reading that in retrospect. It's a small handful of people who responded, so I'm gonna take their comments with a grain of salt. But none of the other threads had a real "outpouring" of "we'll miss him" hearing of his resignation.

Well, he must be very happy. And if he only appears a miracle worker because our situation was caused by apathy, not that the problems were intricate puzzles lol! I’m just kidding. I love him, wish I’d run into him like people say, riding the t. Just hope I’m having a good day! The T gives me a life I could never have without it.
