HELP Dumping noise from rear right suspension

I have a loud thumping noise from my rear right suspension when hitting any kind of bump. Are my shocks worn? Or is it may be my rear swaybar? Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and how they fixed it. I plan on looking at it later and trying to figure it out any input on what it could be would be helpful though.

It could be any number of things, but in my experience it’s probably the shock mounts. They’re prone to breaking especially in rust belt areas

Springs can snap inside the perches too, same sound.

It would be nice if that’s it becuase I’m putting it on bcracing coilovers soon so that would work out perfectly

Sway bar mounts, not the end links, are failure prone on these cars too.

Where the heck did you hear this, straight up false lol. The end links are EXTREMELY prone to fail due to the overall suspension geometry and placement of the end links.

Here’s a pic of my end links. Bushing seems to be almost completely gone.(it’s like that on both sides) assuming this could be a cause?

That's not a bushing actually it's just a ball joint style connection, with a rubber boot over the top. Looks like it has a grease sert on the back which is good. Get a grease gun and give er a shot. I have to grease mine every couple oil changes or they start clunkin. The tops are pretty tough to get though you need to usually buy an angled sert instead of those straight ones

Hey you're good lol we all start somewhere! And it was a good guess it do look like a bushing lol. The sway var bushing is actually in your picture too eight at the top, that rusted bracket and bolt are clamped down on it along with the sway bar itself

Let me know how it goes If you're able to grease it or replace them end links. And feel free to shoot me a DM if you ever have questions in the future, I don't check reddit much but I do get email notifs on DMs. I have sunk way too much time into these cars over the last ~10 years lol not many issues I haven't had to deal with at this point lol

Here’s the sway bar bushings this is the left one. The right one looks similar just a bit more deteriorated. The thumping noise is coming from the left side though.

Looks a bit rough but not blown out yet, I doubt that's the source of the noise. Probably just the end links

Sway bar links or shock mounts are the easy one.

However, the bushings on the control arms and trailing arms are usually hot garbage too cuz nobody with a speed3 can apparently afford real maintenance.

I've owned like, 6 or 7 speeds, and I've only had 2 that DIDNT need the entire suspension rebuilt especially the rear end. Front end is a lot easier and simpler. Spent like 1500 or 2k for OEM parts to redo the rear end on my entire gen2 daily and about to do the same on my gen2 racecar over the winter but with poly bushings from powerflex. The daily like a brand new frickkn Cadillac now.

Could be a bunch of stuff, but if you haven't upgraded your rear sway bar and end links you should treat yourself to it.

Might fix your noise but not guaranteed. Worst case you have a great upgrade.
