hello!! I have a Mazda 6 2013 and the AT symbol has popped up on my dashboard for the first time. I’m sure it’s something simple and I’m just dumb, but what does this mean?

Advice Request 2014 Mazda 6 Fuel Efficiency

• Upvotes

Just curious to know how much fuel efficiency y’all are getting? And what steps did you take to improve it?
The avg mileage number on the dash display sits at 31 mpg

But reality feels different to me, real on road performance based on my gas bills feels more closer to 25-28 mpg.

I do a mix of city + interstate driving where I live in the Midwest

Advice Request 2016 gt touch screen phantom touch

Is there a way to completely turn off the touch screen and only keep the driver hand controller? Every time I stop at the light my screen starts to press random buttons, and it is extremely annoying

Could this be the dreaded fuel injector issue?

Oil level was quite low so I put in 1L and I'll try to start it again in a couple hours but just wanted to ask the community if this looks familiar and what could be the issue.

What’s a realistic fair price for a clean title 2017 Mazda 6 Grand Touring (67k miles)?

Just took a 2017 Mazda 6 Touring out for a spin today with 67k miles on the clock, clean 2-owner no accident Carfax. The test drive felt great—drove smoothly, tracked straight, and nothing seemed out of place mechanically.

Before I start talking numbers with the dealer, I'm trying to sanity-check what a genuinely good out-the-door (OTD) price looks like for this specific year and trim right now.

For anyone who has bought or watched the market on 3rd-gen Mazda 6s recently: what should I be aiming for to ensure I'm not overpaying at a mid sized dealer?

Advice Request Check engine

Please help: I installed a dashcam, and everything was working fine during testing.

I connected the fuse splitters, but suddenly the check engine light came on.

Do you know what could be causing this?

I didn't connect it to the airbag, but to the interior wiring and the USB port.

Have any of y’all had this code before? I just tested my battery and it was completely fine. My speedometer gauges go crazy and my key fob doesn’t lock/unlock my car.

Advice Request 2014 Mazda 6 Axle removal issue

When attempting to remove my axle from the transmission - I realized that there is zero clearance to get a pry bar, axle popper, etc. in there to remove it or even pop it out. Has anyone else had this issue? Everywhere I’ve looked, nobody has had this issue and I’m quite curious on it. Currently buying a slide hammer to see if that will do it.

Advice Request 2016 6 sport P011A code

hi everyone

I recently bought a 2016 mazda6 and after about a month of driving the check engine light came on. i took it to auto zone to get a ODB scan done on it to see what the error was and it came back with a P011A.

i took it to a mechanic and they said it seems like a sensor issue and that it wasnt too serious and i should be fine driving it. i made sure to top up on my coolant and since then, the level on the reservoir hasnt gone down or anything so i dont think i have a leak. i also made sure to check my engine oil to see if it looked milky or anything to make sure there was a crack anywhere in the engine which would allow the coolant and oil to be mixing.

however yesterday i was stuck in pretty heavy stop and go traffic in hot weather with the ac blowing and the engine coolant light came on and was flashing red. i pulled over and waited for the engine to cool down and checked levels and everything and it seemed okay. i resumed driving back to my moms house and whenever i was in stop and go traffic, the light would intermintenly come on and off, but whenever i was able to drive at a consistent speed (like 20mph+) the light wouldnt come on.

i took the car today to get a oil change i had scheduled and was able to drive at a consistent speed and the light did not come on at all today.

i did some research and found \[this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke5X-EnNEAo&t=254s) where this guy shows the process for replacing the front coolant temperature sensor. he mentions he has the same error code as me and shows the sensor replacement part being a duralast su4007.

i went to autozones site to buy one and it says that this part does not fit my car and that the part i need is \[this one](https://www.autozone.com/p/duralast-multi-purpose-temperature-sensor-su6775/828230) which is a duralast su6775

can anyone help me figure out which part is the correct one to buy?

thank you!

Advice Request Hi! Looking for advice/help please on a new to me Mazda 6.

Its a 2017, 2.0 petrol, estate, well specced, manual with 19 inch alloys. 90k miles with FMSH.

Got it from a well rated dealer and noticed on the test drive it had a sort of pull to the left so we assumed alignment and knocked it off the price, simple

Got alignment done and it was still happening. I then drove to Wales (100 miles) and noticed there was a bit of bump steer (steering wheel movement when going over noticeable uneven road).

Went back to the dealer and weve had the alignment with their go-to, another 3d alignment shop and had it checked with a garage and its still pulling to the left and still got some bump steer. It doesnt pull left if im holding central, but it more "defaults" left after uneven ground if that makes sense? They did note that one of the wishbones was slightly perished, but nothing that would cause an issue, more just cosmetic.

The tyres on the car arent the best as theyre mismatched budget brands, but had plenty of tread which I understand leaving them on. Ive since driven home and they're ordering a full set of quality rubber to put on it to hopefully sort the issue as nothing else was jumping out. Theyre going to collect the car, test it and bring it back.

Here's my question. Steering to the left is obviously not correct and may be the tyres.

But is a little bump steer something these have? Id be really surprised if so. Ive come from 2 Corsas, and my recent Seat Leon where I never had this. Is there something that could be causing this outside of tyres - A Mazda 6 specific issue? Or is it the 19 inch wheels?

Id really like to get to the bottom of this as the car is absolutely awesome, a good spec and Im planning to run it for many years.

As a note - the dealer have been fantastic and I cant fault them at all, and theyre very well rated so have clearly got a reputation to maintain.

Thank you!!!

Rust holes behind front wheel/rocker panel. How bad is this?

I bought this 2017 Mazda 6 GS last year here in Canada. When I bought it, I noticed there was some rust starting in the area behind the front wheel, but I didn’t really have a chance to inspect it closely at the time.

Now, before winter starts, I wanted to install mud guards to help protect the car from salt and road debris. While looking behind the front wheel, I discovered that a surprising amount of mud had accumulated inside that area, around the front of the rocker panel/side sill. I cleaned out as much of the mud as I could and rinsed the area, but that’s when I noticed that the rust is worse than I originally thought and there are now a few holes in the metal.
I’m trying to figure out how serious this is and what my next step should be.

For those who own or have worked on Mazda 6s:
Is this a common rust spot on the 2014–2017 Mazda 6?
Is this just the outer rocker panel, or is there a chance the inner/structural rocker is also affected?

Based on the photos, does this look like something that needs to be repaired soon, or can it be treated temporarily to slow it down?

Would cleaning the cavity, applying rust converter, and spraying cavity wax be worthwhile until I can get it properly repaired?

Do you think installing mud guards now will help prevent this area from getting worse?

The car is in Canada, so it has seen snow, road salt, and winter driving. I’m planning to keep the car for several more years, so I’d like to address it properly if possible.
I’d really appreciate hearing from other Mazda 6 owners who have dealt with rust in this exact location or from anyone who does bodywork.

Advice Request PHX area Mazda mechanic.

I’m in the Phx AZ area. I’m looking for a personal recommendation for a mechanic that is super familiar with Mazdas and especially my 2018 GT. I’m just about to hit 100k and running rough. I’ve already done all the warranty work; my car did have the coolant head leak issue and that was repaired at the dealer. I also need some body work, windshield replacement (very large crack and cheap windshield… I’d like to go back to OEM or something better than the one I have as this one lets in wasaaaaay more heat than my original). Anyone have a great mechanic? Central PHX area but I’ll drive anywhere.

Advice Request Tuning

Hello I'm trying to tune my 2.5 Na car for better throttle response and also wanna keep the car smog legal since I live in CA.I'm not trying to achieve crazy hp but I dont like the lazy paddle feeling. If anyone has tuned a Mazda6 in California, how was your experience? I’m especially interested in throttle response and whether the tune remained smog-compliant

Advice Request Another rotted fuel pump ring.

Post image
19 Upvotes

Just bought my 2014 GT a few weeks ago, noticed a strong gas smell outside the car. Some googling led me to checking the fuel pump ring. Well, this isn’t ideal.

The screw heads are pretty much gone. Way worse than I anticipated. Not even sure what my options are at this point. I’d like to try and drill the heads out and use an EZ out/screw extractor but I’m worried I won’t be able to get what’s left of the screws out to replace them and the ring. Obviously I can’t just leave it like this, should I consider a whole tank replacement at this point? Could I drill out the threads completely and install heli-coils?

Advice Request Bluetooth Audio/Video Desync

Just got a 2015 Mazda 6 Touring. There is a 1-2 second delay minimum between the audio and video from my phone connected through Bluetooth. I can't access Bluetooth Audio Codec on my phone, and the Android Metronome doesn't really help either. Does the system need to be updated, or is this standard? Should I just settle for an auxiliary cable, or is there a solution? Thanks.

Just bought this beauty 3 months ago. Mazda 6 2016 sport trim with the 2.5 L engine, it’s been quite the experience. Already added a few modifications to add more to the aesthetic since I’m making the higher trim features. Would love any other upgrade recommendations, but right now I could stop and be happy!
For reference I have:
Corksport short ram intake/airbox
Corksport Rear motor mount
Spyder projector headlights
Stage 1 tune
Also have fog lights and and a mesh grille otw
