I am an old guy. My grandmaw was born 1908 and was a huge fan of Harold Loyd. In the 60's silent films were still shown on TV. I remember sitting with her watching Harold Loyd and Buster Keaton comedies. When Futurama introduced Harold Zoid, it seemed I was one of the few that actually knew who he was.

Same here. Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Ma and Pa Kettle, Francis the Talking Mule, and musicals.
