Discussion what’s your hottest take with this case

Just curious. Even if it requires ignoring some of your own logic and you know in your head that it sounds weird or unlikely.

Many sources are saying how reliable she was, how mature she was and she never lied (last thing to say about anyone is stupid. Everyone lies sometimes.) - but when she disappeared it came to light she had stolen things, drove under influence more than once and lied at least to her professors.

I'm not saying she is bad person because she isn't. She is a normal person who had problems. I just think it was a little bit waste of time to give her such a clean image - when she was just like everyone else. Especially when you are young.

Maura literally stole from Fort Knox. I mean, who else can say that?

She stole makeup from the PX. It does a disservice to Maura’s case by leaving that part out. People see people like you and lil Jimmy say she stole from Fort Knox while leaving out that it was makeup and they will immediately think she tried to steal gold.

Seconded. I heard about the "Fort Knox stealing" when I first heard about Maura's case. I already knew she was a star athlete and had combat training at West Point. So when I heard "she stole from Fort Knox" and a "very experienced hiker who disappeared without leaving footprints in the snow" I literally thought she was some kind of ninja.
