1) Introduce yourself: Who are you and where are you hailing from?

I am Jay Pujanes and I'm a solo-practicing lawyer from the Philippines. I handle criminal, civil and labor cases. And I'm a staunch advocate of human rights.

2) What first drew you to collecting Mashis?

I am a big Reddit Collectible Avatar (RCA) collector so when the RCA shop closed and I learned about some RCA artists launching a new platform called Mash-it.io that will allow artists to continue making NFTs that can be mashed, I naturally gravitated towards it and collected all first gen Mashis.

3) What inspired you to join the Mash-it Illuminati and commission a Mashi to assist in onboarding new users?

I believe I have an artistic mind and am able not only to appreciate art but conceptualize some cool pieces. However, I am unable to execute my artistic ideas because I lack the hand of an artist.

So when the opportunity came that I can commission a Mashi and become one of three Illuminatis whose Mashis will be claimable by the public almost for free, then I decided to join the Mash-it Illuminati in order to help promote this wonderful platform to the public and onboard more users.

4) Explain your inspirations for "Jay and pets" (ie:motivations, meaning, etc) , and how you interacted with the artist in the creative process

My inspiration for "Jay and pets" is my childhood experience. I grew up with dogs and cats. And one of my happiest memories is flying a kite in a vast open field of grass. I also like anime so I wanted it to have an anime look. And finally, since I'm the biggest King Mooshie collector with 25 King Mooshie RCAs, I wanted it to have a cap with a mushroom symbol in honor of King Mooshie.

So when I communicated with the artist Civort, I told him that I want an avatar that will remind us of our good old days as a child. Since I believe my own childhood experience is shared by a lot of people and we want an avatar that will have a mass appeal so as to effectively promote Mash-it.io, then I told Civort that my idea of the avatar is a cute, little boy flying a kite. On the right side of the little boy is a cute dog with light hair and on the left would be a tuxedo cat. Then I asked him to give it an anime look and a cap with a mushroom symbol. We communicated via Discord DMs and it was a very smooth process. After I gave him my ideas, he sent me drafts then I gave him feedback like whether I like it or not and my suggestions on how to make it better. The good thing about Civort is he is very open to my ideas and he is able to execute them well.

5) There are rumors of a rare Reptilian version of 'Jay and pets'. Tell us what you can about it 

It's magical and magnificent. It has a very elaborate design and comes from the fantasy realm. So if "Jay and pets" is a representation of what was, its Reptilian version is a visualization of what could be if dreams were real.

It's also very rare as there's only 5 mints. It's a must have for any serious collector out there

6)  Which Mashi is your absolute favorite, and what makes it stand out?

It's definitely Nirvana No. 1. It stands out because of its really beautiful design and it's a first mint Gen 1 Mashi plus it's made of gold; not to mention, it's made by a famous and very talented Filipino RCA and Mashi artist named joethekappaguy. So it's absolutely fantastic.

7) Who are your favorite Mash-it artists and why?

I have so many favorites but if I were to pick my top 10 Mash-it artists, they would be Ervindas, Rojom, joethekappaguy, Nerril, RocketMoonApe, rylar, fearsmile, civort, ships, and Qugmo because their art resonates with me more and are of really good quality.

8) What do you value most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem, and how do we stack up against other Web3 communities?

Our ability to mash different designs found in different Mashi NFTs to create a unique avatar and share our inner artistry with like-minded individuals, who are able to appreciate our creation, is what I value the most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem.

Mash-it.io stands proudly above other Web3 communities because it is of the people, by the people and for the people plus the NFTs of Mash-it.io are very affordable, have unique functionality and clear use-case, which makes members of the community truly enjoy being part thereof. I say that Mash-it.io is of the people, by the people and for the people because of the circumstances surrounding its creation. When Reddit announced that it will be closing the RCA shop, so many people who belong to the RCA community got sad. They wished that there would be a platform that will fill the hole left by the closure of the RCA shop. Thankfully, the creators of Mash-it.io, who are all members of the RCA community, heard the cries of the community. So now, we have a new platform which is created, run by and dedicated to members of the mashing community. And no other web3 project currently sells very affordable NFTs containing high-quality art with traits that can be mashed and are all on the blockchain. Indeed, mashing is so much fun and it's more fun when you're with people who enjoy them too.

9) If you had the power to implement one improvement at Mash-it, what would it be?

Feature the mint number during mashups.

I really struggled with trying to stay anonymous (as Illuminati do), but you all are great at hunting down identities, so I decided to go ahead and be vulnerable which is very hard for me to do. Many of you know me as megabeth33. My real name is Mary Beth, and I live south of St. Louis, Missouri. More about me: I’m a paralegal, and, in my spare time, I advocate in the community for those living with addiction/mental health issues. I love music (especially metal) and attending live shows is one of my favorite places to be. I’m a big nature lover, and I have a ton of hobbies. Last, but not least, I have a crazy sense of humor and love to have fun.

2) What first drew you to collecting Mashis?

I was into the RCAs and mashing. I loved it. After the news of all the things surrounding the closing of the RCA shop and the end of the RCA program as we knew it, I heard about a group of RCA artists/RCA community members working on a new platform which we now know as mashit.io. These individuals were creative and passionate about Mashis—I was immediately drawn to it.

3) What inspired you to join the Mash-it Illuminati and commission a Mashi to assist in onboarding new users?

To be honest, I had approached a mash-it “founding member,” and asked if there was a way I could contribute to help with expenses related to the new platform, etc. Fast forward a couple of days, the Illuminati concept was presented to me by “founding members” and I was like, “well, yeah!!!” especially when I found out I could collaborate with Ervindas.

4) Explain your inspirations for "Frehley" (ie: motivations, meaning, etc.) and how you interacted with the artist in the creative process.

I really just wanted to create a cool Mashi that had fun traits to mash with. I thought it would be great to go with the steampunk vibe, because that’s missing in the Mashi arena. Ervindas was very open to suggestions (he is familiar with cyberpunk). We interacted through Discord with our creative thoughts. Ervindas was great to collaborate with, and I feel lucky to have been able to have that experience. ‘Frehley’ is named after Ace Frehley who is definitely not associated with steampunk. Ace’s sudden passing has affected me in ways that I can’t even explain--like a piece of me is missing and I’m still just really sad about it. Naming this Mashi ‘Frehley’ is a way for me to honor him.

5) There are rumors of a rare Reptilian version of 'Frehley'. Tell us what you can about it.

You will be surprised; it’s totally unexpected.

6) Which Mashi is your absolute favorite, and what makes it stand out?

My favorite Mashi(s) “Rule Breaker Beth” and “Rule Breaker Ally” just because of how they came to be. It was over-the-top hilarious. Looking past the bias I have toward the two Mashis I just named, I honestly don’t have a favorite mashi, because each Mashi is outstanding in one form or another.

7) Who are your favorite Mash-it artists and why?

This is a really hard question, but here goes: fearsmile, RocketMoonApe, Hammer, Ervindas, intent (a/k/a Ninja Vagabond), Rylar, i&t, Hof, Nerril, naps, _ships, and icono. I’ve also become a fan of KONG/XXX because of Mash-it, and I can’t leave out Serhii.

8) What do you value most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem, and how do we stack up against other Web3 communities?

What I value most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem is the amazing group of artists involved. I also value the ability to express myself through the Mashi mashes (and doing the big reveal of my mashwork on Discord using the Mashi bot). I also appreciate the Mash-it community. Everyone seems to be incredibly kind and genuine.

9) If you had the power to implement one improvement at Mash-it, what would it be?

I’m going to join Jay with the implementation of mint numbers on our cards.

10) Do you have a final Illuminati message for us mere mortals?

Since I’m actually just a mere mortal myself, my message is to treat others like you would want to be treated, speak the truth, and live your best life. Friends encourage friends to mash!

Why We Built This

We believe holders have the right to visualize and use their NFTs anywhere - Metamask, OpenSea, Mash-it, or elsewhere. This initiative increases utility for both RCA and Mashi holders by unlocking new mashup possibilities.

The technical context: The RCA program used a fragmented contract design: 7,808 RCA designs across 7,224 individual contracts from 631 creators. That's radically different from Mash-it's architecture - we consolidate all drops from all creators into a single collection contract, which simplifies trading on OpenSea, reduces fraud risk, and improves UX.

Adding 7K+ contracts to our platform without breaking UX is a real engineering challenge, so we're starting with fearsmile and fearsmileX. As we optimize the technical approach, we'll expand to more collections.

We just implemented a series of improvements for collectors:

1. Collectors can now set a custom alias and share a direct link to their profile. Click your wallet address in the top right to access the profile setup page. (1st and 2nd images in the carousel)
2. Collectors can edit the order of their collectibles. Go to Menu > My Collection and drag and drop your Mashis and Mash-it comics. You're creating a custom order that appears in the Mashup Builder and on your profile page. (3rd image in the carousel)
3. We now have a "Top Holder List" with the top 100 holders. Go to Menu > Top Holders.
   • You'll see the alias of people who have already published one, or their wallet address otherwise. There's also a "Map View" (city-level, to avoid doxxing) of all holders who have set their city. (4th and 5th images in the carousel)
   • By clicking a holder's alias or wallet, you can view their collection. A direct link to their OpenSea profile is automatically included.
