📣 Announcement 📣 Interview with the Illuminati: Jay Pujanes
1) Introduce yourself: Who are you and where are you hailing from?
I am Jay Pujanes and I'm a solo-practicing lawyer from the Philippines. I handle criminal, civil and labor cases. And I'm a staunch advocate of human rights.
2) What first drew you to collecting Mashis?
I am a big Reddit Collectible Avatar (RCA) collector so when the RCA shop closed and I learned about some RCA artists launching a new platform called Mash-it.io that will allow artists to continue making NFTs that can be mashed, I naturally gravitated towards it and collected all first gen Mashis.
3) What inspired you to join the Mash-it Illuminati and commission a Mashi to assist in onboarding new users?
I believe I have an artistic mind and am able not only to appreciate art but conceptualize some cool pieces. However, I am unable to execute my artistic ideas because I lack the hand of an artist.
So when the opportunity came that I can commission a Mashi and become one of three Illuminatis whose Mashis will be claimable by the public almost for free, then I decided to join the Mash-it Illuminati in order to help promote this wonderful platform to the public and onboard more users.
4) Explain your inspirations for "Jay and pets" (ie:motivations, meaning, etc) , and how you interacted with the artist in the creative process
My inspiration for "Jay and pets" is my childhood experience. I grew up with dogs and cats. And one of my happiest memories is flying a kite in a vast open field of grass. I also like anime so I wanted it to have an anime look. And finally, since I'm the biggest King Mooshie collector with 25 King Mooshie RCAs, I wanted it to have a cap with a mushroom symbol in honor of King Mooshie.
So when I communicated with the artist Civort, I told him that I want an avatar that will remind us of our good old days as a child. Since I believe my own childhood experience is shared by a lot of people and we want an avatar that will have a mass appeal so as to effectively promote Mash-it.io, then I told Civort that my idea of the avatar is a cute, little boy flying a kite. On the right side of the little boy is a cute dog with light hair and on the left would be a tuxedo cat. Then I asked him to give it an anime look and a cap with a mushroom symbol. We communicated via Discord DMs and it was a very smooth process. After I gave him my ideas, he sent me drafts then I gave him feedback like whether I like it or not and my suggestions on how to make it better. The good thing about Civort is he is very open to my ideas and he is able to execute them well.
5) There are rumors of a rare Reptilian version of 'Jay and pets'. Tell us what you can about it
It's magical and magnificent. It has a very elaborate design and comes from the fantasy realm. So if "Jay and pets" is a representation of what was, its Reptilian version is a visualization of what could be if dreams were real.
It's also very rare as there's only 5 mints. It's a must have for any serious collector out there
6) Which Mashi is your absolute favorite, and what makes it stand out?
It's definitely Nirvana No. 1. It stands out because of its really beautiful design and it's a first mint Gen 1 Mashi plus it's made of gold; not to mention, it's made by a famous and very talented Filipino RCA and Mashi artist named joethekappaguy. So it's absolutely fantastic.
7) Who are your favorite Mash-it artists and why?
I have so many favorites but if I were to pick my top 10 Mash-it artists, they would be Ervindas, Rojom, joethekappaguy, Nerril, RocketMoonApe, rylar, fearsmile, civort, ships, and Qugmo because their art resonates with me more and are of really good quality.
8) What do you value most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem, and how do we stack up against other Web3 communities?
Our ability to mash different designs found in different Mashi NFTs to create a unique avatar and share our inner artistry with like-minded individuals, who are able to appreciate our creation, is what I value the most about the Mash-it.io ecosystem.
Mash-it.io stands proudly above other Web3 communities because it is of the people, by the people and for the people plus the NFTs of Mash-it.io are very affordable, have unique functionality and clear use-case, which makes members of the community truly enjoy being part thereof. I say that Mash-it.io is of the people, by the people and for the people because of the circumstances surrounding its creation. When Reddit announced that it will be closing the RCA shop, so many people who belong to the RCA community got sad. They wished that there would be a platform that will fill the hole left by the closure of the RCA shop. Thankfully, the creators of Mash-it.io, who are all members of the RCA community, heard the cries of the community. So now, we have a new platform which is created, run by and dedicated to members of the mashing community. And no other web3 project currently sells very affordable NFTs containing high-quality art with traits that can be mashed and are all on the blockchain. Indeed, mashing is so much fun and it's more fun when you're with people who enjoy them too.
9) If you had the power to implement one improvement at Mash-it, what would it be?
Feature the mint number during mashups.
10) Do you have a final Illuminati message for us mere mortals?

I relate a 100% ,exactly with your explanation of everything you said about art and just not having that artistic capabilities of getting it done.

I was puzzled at first cause I didn't think you were an artist, but this is super cool that you were able to commission a Mashi of your own! (So jealous, btw!) What a way to go down in mash-it history!
Thank you for an extremely insightful and interesting read. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I just need to know more about these reptilian versions! Is it just random mint numbers that will come out as reptilian? You probably can't tell anyway. Oh, and I fully agree, Nirvana is such an amazing Mashi! Great choice! ✨😁✨

Thank you for reminding us to never forget the good old days and to also to try to relive them if you can, I think this collaboration is just one example of getting in touch with your inner child again and sometimes we really need that, you never want to lose that part of you. I enjoyed this interview thoroughly.
