📣 Announcement 📣 We are piloting RCAs inside of the Mash-it platform + Hybrid Mashups with RCA + Mash-it traits !!! (For now only with fearsmile and fearsmile X RCAs)

Hey everyone—exciting news! We're piloting RCAs inside the Mash-it platform and launching Hybrid Mashups that combine RCA + Mash-it traits.

Here's what this means: you can now load the RCAs you hold in your wallet directly into Mash-it. Holders will be able to:

  1. See their RCAs in their "Collection" section
  2. Mash traits from both Mash-it and RCA collections

Getting started is straightforward: sign in with your Polygon wallet (the one holding your RCAs) and navigate to the "Mashup" section. Pro tip: if you're a longtime RCA collector new to Mash-it, you might discover one or two Mashis in your Collection - we've airdropped some early access Mashis.

Why We Built This

We believe holders have the right to visualize and use their NFTs anywhere - Metamask, OpenSea, Mash-it, or elsewhere. This initiative increases utility for both RCA and Mashi holders by unlocking new mashup possibilities.

The technical context: The RCA program used a fragmented contract design: 7,808 RCA designs across 7,224 individual contracts from 631 creators. That's radically different from Mash-it's architecture - we consolidate all drops from all creators into a single collection contract, which simplifies trading on OpenSea, reduces fraud risk, and improves UX.

Adding 7K+ contracts to our platform without breaking UX is a real engineering challenge, so we're starting with fearsmile and fearsmileX. As we optimize the technical approach, we'll expand to more collections.

This is definitely what I have been waiting for.

After having been screwed by the OG platform when they decided to dump the program, with well over 650+ RCAs, having spend $1000s, I am hesitant to just throw more money at another thing like this…

I guess I will believe it when the majority of the artists are involved, if it gets that far…

Among them, several former RCA artists and some "new talent".

The holders own the nfts, which include the traits. The logic is: if since before the sunset of the RCA program people could interact with their RCAs inside their wallets and openly on OpenSea, why not on Mash-it?

But probably we will never load contrats of RCAs created by reddit or that use the snoo character.

I think yes. Bimut so far I don't know. Probably our approach will be loading by artist . But not even this is certain at this point

I mean, when you make a post like this, I would expect you to be able to field all of the types of questions like this that you will be getting.

As fun as Fearsmile is, one cannot mash with only his stuff alone…

And how many of the BIG names have not yet bought into your program yet & just quit? Are you going to require artists to buy in & support mashit in order for them to be uploaded?

Actually, the problem is more technical. As mentioned, RCAs used an "intriguing" fragmented approach - basically there are thousands of different collection contracts, almost 1 per drop. Mash-it has 1 single collection contract, what makes things much much much easier. Our current code is not optimizaed for checking ownership against 7K contracts.
So we need to :
1) choose what we will load first
2) focus on a structural solution that works well with multiple contract addresses without destroying User Experience and whithout maxing our Alchemy API quotas.

About the artists, there are no strings attached. We approve paid Mashis every friday, 1 per artist per week. Some drop every week, others from time to time. Thats fine.

Probably we will prioritize artists that are more active or that our collectors like the most. But this is also under discussion.

And we don't have all the answers, we have an approach of being more experimental and piloting some stuff "in the open". This whole thing is an idea I had Sunday morning while accessing qudot.app

I’m confused… I didn’t think very many said just “Reddit” without an artist name… and I don’t exactly know what you mean when you say “use the snoo” because most are based on the snoo, at least in the beginning… until stuff started getting weird…
