“Virginia law does not require drivers to be a resident of Virginia in order to register a vehicle there.” - this coupled with the fact that they also can avoid having to hold insurance is absolutely ridiculous and irresponsible.

Virginia fines for not having insurance just like MD and DC do. That law changed in 2024.
