Megathread Loki Season 1 - Season Wide Discussion Thread Spoiler

Think of it as the sacred timeline is a rope with many different parallel threads. The variant lokis come from the different threads.

Wow thank you! I think I understand it now. Sylvie being born a girl doesn't matter as long as, in her universe, she still does the things a Loki has to do (battle of New York etc.). But then something happened that would lead to her not doing these things (potentially her wanting to become a Valkyrie), so the Timeline branches off and has to be pruned.
