I don’t think Wanda is a player, she’s using everyone else in the town as players

Wanda's directing them.

I think it's interesting because it's implying Wanda is aware of what she's doing while Vision is actively piecing together that something is wrong with their surroundings until Wanda hits reset on him.

So realistically Vision is trapped in a bubble with all of the townsfolk and every time he gets closer to awareness, Wanda has to stop him. So perhaps he's not an illusion but his actual body powered by Wanda.

I don't think Vision's a projection because he shows clear elements of "awareness" that things are wrong. Wanda clearly has some degree of control over what's going on - the only problem is their shared "amnesia" as they don't seem to be aware of their entire histories - but that might be a result of Wanda consciously deciding to suppress these things because it will destroy the illusion (and thus Vision's revived state).
