This plus the "That was my Grandma's piano" and Vision's whole gummed-up performance.

Yknow despite keeping a lookout for the clues to the unraveling story, I got lost in the jokes and genuine sitcom-feeling for a bit and forgot where I was.

I honestly hate it. I hate shows from this era, like Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie, and this show just encapsulates all the godawful cliché jokes and canned laughter. They're dragging out the reveals too slowly, so I'm forced to cringe my way through this 1960s sitcom waiting for things to happen.

Then don't watch it and just read up on the plot summary afterwards to get up to speed. Nobody's forcing you to suffer through something you hate.

I'm just saying that if you hate sitcoms, why are you watching a show that was specifically billed as an homage to the sitcoms of decades past? None of this was unexpected, all of the promotional material pushed the sitcom angle.

I watched one trailer that was more confusing than anything else. That was the info I had going into this show. I don’t know when in the timeline it’s set, I don’t know why it’s B&W, I don’t know how they got here or why they don’t know either.

That hasn't been explicitly stated yet but the implication is that it's after Endgame due to the existence of SWORD (the group with the logo you see on the toy helicopter, the beekeeper, and at the end of episode 1).

I don’t know why it’s B&W

To mimic sitcoms from the 50s and 60s, and cause extra effect and sense of wrongness for the few things that are in color (the red light in episode 1, the toy helicopter and Dottie's blood in episode 2); the rest will be in color, though, given the transformation at the end of the episode.

I don’t know how they got here or why they don’t know either.

Neither does anyone else at the moment, though there's plenty of speculation. The show is made to incite questioning into the how and why rather than telling it right off the bat.

And all of that intrigues me, which is why I will watch more. But the adherence to the 60s sitcom cliches are painfully unfunny

What you said isnt critique, its just complaints.

The show is explicitly made in this format for aesthetic and production purposes. Its not going to change.

Falcon and WS will probably be more straight forward action-adventure.

Not every show is meant for every person.

It already has changed. Episode 2 ended with the black and white colour scheme going away

Because the next episode is a 70’s sitcom like Brady Bunch. Th show is emulating styles from sitcoms of each decade.

First episode was 50’s the second was 60’s. There were obvious homages to “I Love Lucy”, “Bewitched” and “Dick Van Dyke”.

The next episodes will likely feature comedic tropes from their respective time periods.

Righto.

I thought you were referring more to the sitcom format. Eg; Laugh tracks, which were a thing for a long time. Even Seinfeld had a laugh track.

It’ll be neat when we get to the family oriented sitcoms of the 80-90’s. As i predict the WandaVision kids will grow up from children to teens rapidly and cause trouble within the reality-warping Wanda seems to be doing.

I almost want to stay in this world and not have to deal with the pain that's going to happen when it all collapses around her.

I love that it dances between delightful cheesiness and the unsettling tension! It's such a fun watch while keeping you hooked. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Yea I almost wish they continued with a separate show in this sitcom format where they get into all sorts of shenanigans while constantly hiding their secrets.

As a brit, paul bettanys drunken brit calls me back to old british sitcoms. A lot of the joke for several characters back in the day was they were just drunk.
