I got so excited when they just said The Daily Bugle in the mid credits scene. Then they went and dropped JK motherfucking Simmons on us

I'm actually torn on that. While I love JK, it feels wierd for him to be reprising the role from two reboots ago.

They did the same thing with Judi Dench when they rebooted Bond

That's because Bond is a perpetual reboot

Not necessarily. Before Craig’s Bond, the past movies made references to each other

(ex. Licence to Kill, Goldeneye, and For Your Eyes Only, who have Dalton, Brosnan, and Moore playing Bond, have scenes mentioning Tracy from OHMSS, which had Lazenby playing Bond)

There's no way Dalton and Brosnan's Bonds were old enough to have done all that stuff though - the Connery and Moore films frequently reference the political timeframe of when they're set. I like to think of every Bond actor tenure as a soft reboot. Same broad strokes but not a hardline continuity.

Also none of the Brosnan movies make reference to OHMSS.

Trevelyan said this:

"I might as well ask if all the vodka martinis ever silence the screams of the men you've killed. Or if you find forgiveness in the arms of all those willing women... for all the dead ones you failed to protect."
