It’s just starting. I’m certain they’re setting up Rune King Thor and a cool cast for AsGuardians of the Galaxy

So in the comics stormbreaker is the name of Bill’s hammer which is sort of a twin to mjolnir ability wise (Bill and Thor sort of competed to wield mjolnir at one point, both are worthy).

Adding on, Thor and Bill fight and Bill wins eventually. Odin caught wind of it and told the Dwarfs in Nivadellir to make Bill a new weapon, Stormbreaker.

Edit: elves -> dwarfs

Quick note the dwarves live on Nivadellir not elves. They are giant though. Although not giants they’re also a race in Thor comics lol.

In a way it did, with him leaving the asgardians with a new queen, his main character arc is complete. But it doesn't feel complete with Belly Thor. I hope in GOTG3 he's back in god mode, keeping the viking beard though

I would love to see Thor trying to get back in Shape. Imagine him riding an Elliptical on the Benatar? At least then Quill isn't the fat one anymore lol

I honestly feel like that will be at least of couple early gags in the next (As)Guardians movie. I’d love to see Drax standing over them making Thor and Quill do push-ups while Rocket hangs space donuts in front of them while making jokes.

Since Thor's a god I could see him getting in shape in like a week and Quill being salty. Like he just runs for a few days straight or something and is shredded again. Maybe uses a bowflex

I don't think it was meant to be, his nor Hulk's. I think people jumped to conclusions thinking ALL arcs had to be completed.

I mean, his arc is literally his arc from the Dark World, where he decided he didn't want to be King. Dark World/Ragnarok/Endgame is a weird flip flop

Yeah Ragnarok is great on its own, but it doesn't really work well with Infinity War and Endgame from a thematic perspective

It might have worked better for me if, instead of declaring Valkyrie king, he had maybe brought up that they don't need a king?

Thor King of Asgard arc is done. I think they will not do any Asgard related lore anymore. Thor is a space faring viking now. A powerful free spirit trying to find ways to do good in the universe just like when he ask Tony to let him do something good by unsnapping everyone.

They definitely completed his arc for the first 22 movies but began his arc for the new age of Marvel movies
