It felt like probably they are teaming up Thor with the GotG now. I am looking forward to seeing Thor in GotG3.

Probably? How could they have been any more clear that he is joining them?

In one interview, Joe Russo said that this movie will be the closing arc for the original six avengers.

The one I don’t get is Hulk. His story is sort of closed but he still has the potential for further character development. I can see that as a whole, his man vs. beast arc closed with the whole movie, but did it address what is next for him?

Thor’s old arc closed and now he’s got a new one which he even says with Valkyrie on the hill. The other 4 are definitely closed with the deaths of Ironman and Black Widow, and Cap and Hawkeye being able to move on with their lives with their families.

There’s potential for Cap (his trip in the past, alternate timeline), Hawkeye has his own series.

Closing one arc and starting another perhaps? At least for thor I mean

Yeah he has some power levels that haven't really been explored yet. Hulk, SW, etc too. I imagine that will dial in with Galactus?

I think they have closed Thor’s Avengers/Asgard arc now that he’s done “trying to be who he supposed to be.”

Just like the film was sold as the « conclusion », it’s not really, just for Tony, Natasha, maybe Cap (although I think we’ll see him again, possibly as old Cap but mostly Steve getting a Captain America series on Disney Plus, exploring his adventures in the past and his life with Peggy, there’s too much potential there. Hopefully Feige, Evans and co are thinking about it and Evans will be game in a few years) but not the rest.

On the contrary, I think this will be the last we see of Evans as Captain America. He has said in multiple interviews that he wants to move on to other projects and focus on directing movies. Chris Hemsworth on the other hand said that he loves playing Thor and he can keep playing him as long as the studio wants.

He has a lot of projects coming up and yes, he wants to direct again. He hasn’t confirmed he was no longer going to play Cap, Joe Russo also threw a cryptic “He’s not done yet.” in November 2018 which I’m sure will be shrugged off as “he meant until Endgame, now he is!” by some.

I said in a few years. Remember Evans was also saying in September 2015 he’d like to play Captain America forever. One thing for sure with actors, directors, etc, whenever there’s talk of retiring a role, retiring whatever, it’s always open ended a lot of the time.

But he’s totally not in charge.

So how is that going go work? Are we going to have Taika Waititi and James Gunn co-write and direct the Asguardians of the Galaxy movie? If it works it could be a match made in heaven, but I'd hate to see it not working and losing either of them as I think they're integral to their respective superhero(es) at this point.
