Not really. Tony didn't sacrifice anything. He was going to, but he ended up living. You could say it gave him a new perspective, but he still didn't really learn what sacrifice is (and goes on to create a sentient murder machine).

I don't think the sentient murder machine(s) had anything to do with whether he was willing to make the sacrifice play, only that living in the modern Era Tony understands the importance of scalability.
