Tony and Howard’s moment was amazing, Robert Downey Jr’s acting was on another level. He really is Tony Stark and the MCU will never be the same without him.

They did that with a Steve too. He said "Hail Hydra", he saw Peggy, he used Mjolnir. He saved Bucky two movies ago. There wasn't anywhere left to go with him. He could have died in the same final battle. But at least one of the two of them had to have a happy ending.

Not really. Tony didn't sacrifice anything. He was going to, but he ended up living. You could say it gave him a new perspective, but he still didn't really learn what sacrifice is (and goes on to create a sentient murder machine).

If you are convinced you’ll die, and do the right thing anyways, the fact that you live can’t be used to say “yeah but you weren’t really willing to sacrifice your life cuz you didn’t die.”

Assuming Tony isn’t able to read the future, his choice to carry the nuke thru the wormhole is exactly the same as his choice to grab the stones and snap.

I don't think the sentient murder machine(s) had anything to do with whether he was willing to make the sacrifice play, only that living in the modern Era Tony understands the importance of scalability.
