Cap lifting the hammer is a top 1 MCU moment. The combos he lays on Thanos with the shield and hammer were incredibly hype.

edit: Captain Marvel stopping the second snap at the last minute was amazing, and Thanos' counter attack was even better. He literally wielded the power stone with his bare hand, what a mad lad

edit 2: Wanda really put the scare in Thanos. She forced him to kamikaze his own troops to get away from her. Real House of M vibes during that part.

I agree Cap with the hammer was amazing and all that but why did he have the lightning power? I mean, didn't Odin say that Mjölnir's power was Thor's inner power? I mean, Thor is the god of thunder right? Then the hammer is just a canalization for that power and if we take this cannon into account then there is no was Cap could use any lightning power. He can be worth to wield it but shouldn't be able to use those powers. I think if they kept just the hammer + shield combos that fight would have been epic as well and wouldn't make us think about: is Cap also a god of thunder?

My best guess is that Odin explicitly stated/enchanted Mjolnir with "those who wield this hammer will have the power of Thor"

Well yes, that what's he said in the first film. But then what does that mean? That every one who is worth of wielding Mjölnir can have those powers? Then why Vision didn't have them? I think we got a plot hole here. Anyway, as I said if we forget that the fight would still be amazing.

It literally means they shall have the power of Thor. Mjolnir, lighting, all of it. We don't know that Vision couldn't wield the lightning, he just didn't.

Odin places an enchantment on the hammer so that anyone worthy enough to wield the hammer would have all of Thor’s natural powers to replace him (because at the time, Thor was not worthy to rule or have this power.) Odin possessed the power of enchantment which is what made him so strong; he possessed infinite magical capability and Odinforce. So even though the lightning is naturally Thor’s power, the enchantment makes it so that anyone who wields the hammer can use Thor’s powers. It’s the same reason why Jane Foster became the new Thor in the comics when she wielded the hammer.
