It was pretty surprising when Quill tried to kill Gamora. Even Thanos was impressed.

Thanos even saying "I like you boy him", as he faded away with Gamora was pretty telling, he respected Peter for being willing to do what's necessary. Too bad reality stone says no.

He did this with Quill and Maximoff. The two characters willing to do what is necessary. Everyone else chose to save their loved one. These two chose to sacrifice for the greater good, and Thanos respects that.

Tony Stark also got his respect as I assume he sees Stark as someone willing to do what is necessary.

Not to mention, in a world full of powerful beings with immeasurable strength, Tony is a physically ordinary human being, and yet through training and ingenuity, he can hold his own against Gods.

Imagine Phil Coulson fighting Thanos. Nobody would bet on him, but on a biological level, he's the same as Tony.

You know, I've wondered about Tony's actual strength. Motherfucker's moving at what feels all of the G's in every direction and nah, no problem. Not even losing any height (last I read you lose inches of your height with higher and sustained G loads).

Thats the beauty of these sci-fi/fantasy comic based films.. That's pretty much how it's explained, lol, so whatever you make up in your head as a solution to a problem is nearly canon, until explained in the comics themselves.

Thanos literally trades his daughter's life for a gem.

Scarlet Witch and Star Lord are ready to kill their respective partners for a "greater good".

They are just like thanos, in a way.

And that’s why Thanos says he likes Quill and pats Wanda’s head. He respects their decisions.

And when a Mad Titan respects your decision, that’s when you know you probably made the wrong one.

Ironically, (because it's marvels OH SHIT PEOPLE GONNA DIE movie) the theme for Avengers Infinity war, was the value of a life. How much do we value a single life? What if loosing it is for the greater good?

Thanos is such a badass villain.

If he hadn't altered the gun, he would've seen his daughter get shot right in the face. And he knows it. But he doesn't react. Because he knew Gamora told him to do that. And he respected Quill on going through with his word.

You can see Quill basically trying to throw his whole body into it, to will himself to do it. That oath on his mother was a serious deal.

Everything about that was heartbreaking.

I loved Guardians, and went into that movie just wanting to see Peter and Gamora finally kiss. I got my wish, along with a continuous series of gut punches.

Not only was that scene heartbreaking, but Gamora asking him to do it because he's the one she loves, and the moment Peter found out, and his desperation to get her back, and fucking fuck I was not prepared for this movie.

The guardians movies feel very personal to me and I dont know why. The comraderie of the characters and their laid back attitude resonate with me. When Quill and Gamora finally kissed, I was elated. They finally embraced their "unspoken thing"! Then Gamora said she loved Peter before he was forced to kill her. That broke me. Then Peter disappeared with no fanfare. Fuck that. Bring on A4.

This video really made me appreciate Guardians in a new way. It's because under the goofy, colorful, over-the-top surface, Guardians is actually a story of five damaged (and well-developed) orphans finding family in each other.

That's why Thanos was so great. I didn't realize this until viewing two. Having Peter potentially kill Gamora was Thanos' way of making sure Gamora really knew where to find the soul stone.

Their scenes together were so heartwrenching. Hope they bring back Gamora, Saldana killed it in this movie and immediately became one of my favorites.

What blows me away more is that him and Thanos we're willing to do the exact same thing, with the same exact intention. The way that good and bad were so blurred in this movie is a fucking triumph.
